The MICHELIN Guide Taiwan 2025
The MICHELIN Guide Taiwan entered its eighth year. When the first edition was launched in Taiwan in March 2018, Taipei became the first city in Taiwan to be included in the MICHELIN Guide's evaluation, followed by Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. On May 7, 2025, the inclusion of New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, and Hsinchu City was announced, further enriching Taiwan's culinary landscape. This expansion represented strong recognition of the distinctive culinary cultures and development potential of regions across Taiwan. It also reflected the achievements of the government's systematic, phased approach to promoting Taiwan's culinary tourism, ultimately receiving recognition from MICHELIN's professional inspectors.

On August 19, 2025, the MICHELIN Guide Taiwan 2025 announced that 53 restaurants across seven cities—Taipei, New Taipei, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung—had received MICHELIN Star ratings. These included three three-star restaurants, seven two-star restaurants, and 43 one-star restaurants. Each award-winning restaurant demonstrated a continuous pursuit of creativity, a deep connection to local culture and land, and a profound understanding and appreciation of ingredients, presenting culinary stories of Taiwan enriched by cultural heritage. The number of restaurants selected for The MICHELIN Guide Taiwan 2025 continued to grow steadily. The guide included 53 MICHELIN-starred restaurants, 144 Bib Gourmand establishments, and 222 recommended restaurants, for a total of 419 selected restaurants, including seven MICHELIN Green Star restaurants. The selections included 157 restaurants in Taipei, 36 in New Taipei, 22 in Hsinchu City, 21 in Hsinchu County, 63 in Taichung, 61 in Tainan, and 59 in Kaohsiung. Covering cuisines ranging from Taiwanese cuisine to diverse international flavors, the selections highlighted the remarkable diversity and vitality of Taiwan's culinary scene.
