Promoting Diverse Themed Tourism
Innovating Gold Tour Products to Raise Travel Quality
In conjunction with the gradual reopening of borders, the Tourism Bureau continued to support the Travel Quality Assurance Association ROC in selecting domestic Gold Tour routes. The bureau also added an inbound category to the Gold Tour route options. These were further divided into the following regions: mainland China, Hong Kong/Macao, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand. The program also included internationally renowned scenic areas planned by national scenic areas of the Tourism Bureau to market attractions with Taiwan's unique cultural charm. A total of 36 Gold Tour itineraries were selected in eight categories this year. These tours provide the public with a selection of premium travel options best suited to consumer demand, while also encouraging innovation and higher quality travel in the tourism industry.
Promoting Low-carbon and Sustainable Bicycle Tourism
In conjunction with the Round-Island Bike Path Upgrading and Route Integration Promotion Plan, the Tourism Bureau completed improvements to facilities and services along 849.3 kilometers of various bicycle routes. The bureau also encouraged travel agencies to collaborate with related industries and develop bicycle tourism and creative themed high-quality tour packages. In 2022, the bureau arranged 16 diverse bicycle routes and introduced more than 20 events under seven themes. It carried out marketing and promotion campaigns tailored to each event. The activities arranged during the Taiwan Cycling Festival attracted over 78,000 participants and generated NT$240 million in tourism revenue.
