“Light Up Taiwan” is organized by national scenic areas and national parks to encourage in-depth experience of the island’s beauties through the linking of Taiwan’s easternmost, southernmost, northernmost, and westernmost lighthouses.
Biking competitions of varying degrees of difficulty are held, each with one of the four lighthouses as its destination. Practical information is provided on eating, lodging, traveling, shopping, transportation, and suggested bike routes that allow travelers to get up close and personal with the beauties of Taiwan by visiting the four lighthouses. The aim is to create a new form of tourism and arouse a new wave of slow, in-depth travel.
