Compared with August of last year, the number of foreign visitors decline by 1,283 or 0.27%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decline by 9,084 or 4.43%.

- Japan accounted for 116,582 or 17.59% of the total, decline by 6.57%, consisting of 116,483 foreign visitors, decline by 6.57%, and 99 Overseas Chinese, decline by 1.98%.
- Korea accounted for 50,973 or 7.69% of the total, decline by 8.57%, consisting of 50,843 foreign visitors, decline by 8.5%, and 130 Overseas Chinese, decline by 28.96%.
- Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao Market:

- There were 51,452 visitors from Korea accounting for 7.76% of the total. This was decline by 4,671 or 8.32%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 179,770 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 27.13% of the total. This was up 2,439 or 1.38%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 50,372 visitors from U.S.A. accounting for 7.6% of the total. This was up 5,181 or 11.46%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 7,561 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.14% of the total. This was up 246 or 3.36%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 37,530 visitors from Europe accounting for 5.66% of the total. This was up 2,268 or 6.43%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.12% (7,445 people), 0.98% (6,505 people), and 0.82% (5,407 people) of the total which were decline by 6.29%, up 13.56%, and up 1.48% from the number in the same month last year.

- Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 662,735 visitors, 93.46% by air of whom 619,389. 491,740 visitors or 74.2% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 67,407 visitors or 10.17% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 6.54% by sea of whom 43,346. 4,758 visitors or 0.72% through Kaohsiung port, 7,257 visitors or 1.1% through Keelung, 647 visitors or 0.1% through Taichung.
- Gender: Male visitors accounted for 48.74% (323,014 people) while female were 51.26% (339,721 people).
- Age: There were 92,010 (13.88%) visitors under 19-year-old, 298,963 (45.11%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 209,332 (31.59%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 62,430 (9.42%) over 60-year-old.
- Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, Business, and Visit Relatives with 422,590 (63.76%), 47,266 (7.13%), and 24,652 (3.72%) visitors.
- Length of stay: Most of visitors, 123,013 people or 18.63%, stayed 3 Nights. Visitors staying 5-7 Nights, 97,895 people or 14.83%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for Over 90 Nights, 91,873 people or 13.91%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in August was 7.68 nights.
