A total of 758,613 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in April, 2026, increase 7,464 or 0.99% from the 751,149 in April of last year. The arrivals included 602,934 foreign visitors and 155,679 Overseas Chinese. Compared with April of last year, the number of foreign visitors increase by 28,949 or 5.04%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decline by 21,485 or 12.13%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 49,794 or 6.56% of the total, up 4.60%, consisting of 1,671 foreign visitors, up 84.44% and 48,123 Overseas Chinese, up 3.05%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 116,758 or 15.39% of the total, decline 13.13%, consisting of 10,833 foreign visitors, up 106.86%, and 105,925 Overseas Chinese, decline 18.00%.
   3. Japan accounted for 109,235 or 14.40% of the total, up 12.33%, consisting of 109,146 foreign visitors, up 12.37%, and 89 Overseas Chinese, decline 18.35%.
   4. Korea, 82,621 or 10.89% of the total, up 4.20%, consisting of 82,526 foreign visitors, up 4.26%, and 95 Overseas Chinese, decline 30.15%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 248,332 or 32.74% of the total, up 6.41%, consisting of 247,953 foreign visitors, up 6.44%, and 379 Overseas Chinese, decline 8.67%.
   6. U.S.A., 72,373 or 9.54% of the total, up 10.14%, consisting of 72,036 foreign visitors, up 10.32%, and 337 Overseas Chinese, decline 17.80%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 15,522 or 2.05% of the total, decline 4.42%, consisting of 15,502 foreign visitors, decline 4.34%, and 20 Overseas Chinese, decline 39.39%.
   8. Europe, 40,012 or 5.27% of the total, decline 9.56%, consisting of 39,978 foreign visitors, decline 9.54%, and 34 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.73%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 23,966 or 3.16% of the total, decline 27.49%, consisting of 23,289 foreign visitors, decline 29.22%, and 677 Overseas Chinese, up 360.54%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 108,813 visitors from Japan accounting for 14.34% of the total. This was up 11,505 or 11.82%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 83,563 visitors from Korea accounting for 11.02% of the total. This was up 2,929, or 3.63%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 247,216 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 32.59% of the total. This was up 13,503 or 5.78%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 73,671 visitors from U.S.A. accounting for 9.71% of the total. This was up 6,138 or 9.09%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 16,171 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 2.13% of the total. This was decline 1,014, or 5.90%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 47,550 visitors from Europe accounting for 6.27% of the total. This was decline 4,482, or 8.61%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.34% (10,159 people), 1.28% (9,684 people), and 0.86% (6,507 people) of the total which were decline 10.06%, decline 31.46% ,and up 5.67% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 25,950 or 3.42%, up 370 or 1.45%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 155,679 or 20.52% decline 21,485 or 12.13%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 105,925 or 68.04%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 758,613 visitors, 93.20% by air of whom 707,060. 572,567 visitors or 75.48% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 68,999 visitors or 9.10% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 6.80% by sea of whom 51,553. 4,177 visitors or 0.55% through Kaohsiung port, 24,076 visitors or 3.17% through Keelung, 862 visitors or 0.11% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 47.65% (361,454 people) while female were 52.35% (397,159 people).
   3. Age: There were 58,611 (7.73%) visitors under 19-year-old, 330,803 (43.61%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 241,363 (31.82%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 127,836 (16.85%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 530,226 (69.89%), 45,779 (6.03%), and 24,808 (3.27%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 140,746 people or 19.34%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying 5-7 nights, 123,697 people or 17.00%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 4 nights, 103,744 people or 14.25%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in April was 7.06 nights.
