A total of 946,544 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in December, 2025, up 42,925 or 4.75% from the 903,619 in December of last year. The arrivals included 755,174 foreign visitors and 191,370 Overseas Chinese. Compared with December of last year, the number of foreign visitors was up by 54,879 or 7.84%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors declined by 11,954 or 5.88%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 55,009 or 5.81% of the total, decline 9.40%, consisting of 1,886 foreign visitors, up 98.95% and 53,123 Overseas Chinese, decline 11.11%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 150,213 or 15.87% of the total, up 1.58%, consisting of 13,655 foreign visitors, up 115.75%, and 136,558 Overseas Chinese, decline 3.53%.
   3. Japan accounted for 173,702 or 18.35% of the total, up 13.66%, consisting of 173,612 foreign visitors, up 13.70%, and 90 Overseas Chinese, decline 30.77%.
   4. Korea, 110,511 or 11.68% of the total, decline 10.48%, consisting of 110,386 foreign visitors, decline 10.49%, and 125 Overseas Chinese, decline 4.58%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 294,875 or 31.15% of the total, up 12.60%, consisting of 294,463 foreign visitors, up 12.64%, and 412 Overseas Chinese, decline 9.25%.
   6. U.S.A., 80,903 or 8.55% of the total, up 5.01%, consisting of 80,154 foreign visitors, up 5.18%, and 749 Overseas Chinese, decline 10.51%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 20,178 or 2.13% of the total, up 10.10%, consisting of 20,124 foreign visitors, up 10.44%, and 54 Overseas Chinese, decline 49.06%.
   8. Europe, 35,650 or 3.77% of the total, up 22.40%, consisting of 35,594 foreign visitors, up 22.57%, and 56 Overseas Chinese, decline 36.36%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 25,503 or 2.69% of the total, decline 21.26%, consisting of 25,300 foreign visitors, decline 21.25%, and 203 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.81%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 172,916 visitors from Japan accounting for 18.27% of the total. This was up 20,808 or 13.68%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 111,615 visitors from Korea accounting for 11.79% of the total. This was decline 13,329, or 10.67%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 295,190 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 31.19% of the total. This was up 31,342 or 11.88%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 82,847 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 8.75% of the total. This was up 3,958 or 5.02%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 20,997 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 2.22% of the total. This was up 1,156 or 5.83%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 43,198 visitors from Europe accounting for 4.56% of the total. This was up 6,795, or 18.67%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.02% (9,612 people), 0.69% (6,564 people), and 0.63% (5,929 people) of the total which were up 8.32%, up 14.90% ,and 24.82% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 28,411 or 3.00%, 4,149 or  17.10%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 191,370 or  20.22% decline 11,954 or 5.88%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 136,558 or 71.35%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 946,544 visitors, 94.46% by air of whom 894,141. 732,116 visitors or 77.35% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 88,163 visitors or 9.31% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 5.54% by sea of whom 52,403. 3,144 visitors or 0.33% through Kaohsiung port, 28,615 visitors or 3.02% through Keelung, 560 visitors or 0.06% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 47.35% (448,197 people) while female were 52.65% (498,347 people).
   3. Age: There were 136,641 (14.44%) visitors under 19 year old, 380,095 (40.16%) between 20 to 39 year old, 298,284 (31.51%) between 40 to 59 year old, and 131,524 (13.90%) over 60 year old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and visiting relatives with 716,996 (75.75%), 39,615 (4.19%), and 36,952 (3.90%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 192,712 people or 21.77%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying for 5-7 nights, 156,417 people or 17.67%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 4 nights, 127,689 people or 14.43%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in December was 6.83 nights.
