A total of 601,339 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in September, 2025, up 25,884 or 4.50% from the 575,455 in September of last year. The arrivals included 484,924 foreign visitors and 116,415 Overseas Chinese. Compared with September of last year, the number of foreign visitors up by 26,226 or 5.72%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decline by 342 or 0.29%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 43,411 or 7.22% of the total, up 35.49%, consisting of 1,477 foreign visitors, up 72.14% and 41,934 Overseas Chinese, up 34.48%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 80,407 or 13.37% of the total, decline 8.87%, consisting of 6,880 foreign visitors, up 75.29%, and 73,527 Overseas Chinese, decline 12.78%.
   3. Japan accounted for 128,132 or 21.31% of the total, up 16.70%, consisting of 128,056 foreign visitors, up 16.74%, and 76 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.45%.
   4. Korea, 59,164 or 9.84% of the total, decline 21.18%, consisting of 59,015 foreign visitors, decline 21.15%, and 149 Overseas Chinese, decline 31.02%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 192,688 or 32.04% of the total, up 14.63%, consisting of 192,396 foreign visitors, up 14.70%, and 292 Overseas Chinese, decline 18.66%.
   6. U.S.A., 39,177 or 6.51% of the total, decline 0.02%, consisting of 38,909 foreign visitors, up 0.15%, and 268 Overseas Chinese, decline 19.52%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 10,012 or 1.66% of the total, decline 15.61%, consisting of 9,998 foreign visitors, decline 15.41%, and 14 Overseas Chinese, decline 68.18%.
   8. Europe, 29,373 or 4.88% of the total, up 10.47%, consisting of 29,351 foreign visitors, up 10.59%, and 22 Overseas Chinese, decline 54.17%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 18,975 or 3.16% of the total, decline 22.86%, consisting of 18,842 foreign visitors, decline 22.86%, and 133 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.67%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 127,596 visitors from Japan accounting for 21.22% of the total. This was up 17,816 or 16.23%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 59,916 visitors from Korea accounting for 9.96% of the total. This was decline 15,742, or 20.81%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 192,750 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 32.05% of the total. This was up 23,952 or 14.19%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 39,980 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 6.65% of the total. This was decline 87 or 0.22%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 10,547 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.75% of the total. This was decline 1,906 or 15.31%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 33,892 visitors from Europe accounting for 5.64% of the total. This was up 2,416, or 7.68%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.15% (6,936 people), 1.10% (6,617 people), and 0.70% (4,219 people) of the total which were up 0.25%, up 14.05% ,and decline 2.99% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 20,243 or 3.37%, decline 223 or 1.09%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 116,415 or 19.36% decline 342 or 0.29%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 73,527 or 63.15%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 601,339 visitors, 94.51% by air of whom 568,308. 463,106 visitors or 77.01% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 48,349 visitors or 8.04% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 5.49% by sea of whom 33,031. 5,956 visitors or 0.99% through Kaohsiung port, 10,098 visitors or 1.68% through Keelung, 1,024 visitors or 0.17% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 49.20% (295,887 people) while female were 50.80% (305,452 people).
   3. Age: There were 38,924 (6.47%) visitors under 19-year-old, 296,963 (49.38%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 185,637 (30.87%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 79,815 (13.27%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 379,819 (63.16%), 26,330 (4.38%), and 20,874 (3.74%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 126,861 people or 22.54%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying for 2 nights, 93,258 people or 16.57%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 5-7 nights, 79,724 people or 14.16%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in September was 6.71 nights.
