A total of 673,102 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in August, 2025, up 56,180 or 9.11% from the 616,922 in August of last year. The arrivals included 468,012 foreign visitors and 205,090 Overseas Chinese. Compared with August of last year, the number of foreign visitors up by 31,203 or 7.14%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors up by 24,977 or 13.87%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 69,534 or 10.33% of the total, up 87.46%, consisting of 1,256 foreign visitors, up 46.56% and 68,278 Overseas Chinese, up 88.43%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 145,117 or 21.56% of the total, decline 1.47%, consisting of 9,462 foreign visitors, up 91.69%, and 135,655 Overseas Chinese, decline 4.70%.
   3. Japan accounted for 124,778 or 18.54% of the total, up 11.65%, consisting of 124,677 foreign visitors, up 11.71%, and 101 Overseas Chinese, decline 31.76%.
   4. Korea, 55,749 or 8.28% of the total, decline 8.72%, consisting of 55,566 foreign visitors, decline 8.75%, and 183 Overseas Chinese, up 1.10%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 176,545 or 26.23% of the total, up 10.21%, consisting of 176,215 foreign visitors, up 10.29%, and 330 Overseas Chinese, decline 18.92%.
   6. U.S.A., 44,228 or 6.57% of the total, up 0.97%, consisting of 43,866 foreign visitors, up 1.26%, and 362 Overseas Chinese, decline 24.90%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 6,230 or 0.93% of the total, up 10.05%, consisting of 6,223 foreign visitors, up 10.20%, and 7 Overseas Chinese, decline 50.00%.
   8. Europe, 30,287 or 4.50% of the total, up 17.40%, consisting of 30,242 foreign visitors, up 17.69%, and 45 Overseas Chinese, decline 55.88%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 20,634 or 3.07% of the total, decline 14.97%, consisting of 20,505 foreign visitors, decline 14.79%, and 129 Overseas Chinese, decline 36.76%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 124,111 visitors from Japan accounting for 18.44% of the total. This was up 12,491 or 11.19%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 56,123 visitors from Korea accounting for 8.34% of the total. This was decline 5,577, or 9.04%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 177,331 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 26.35% of the total. This was up 16,521 or 10.27%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 45,191 visitors from U.S.A. accounting for 6.71% of the total. This was up 497 or 1.11%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 7,315 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.09% of the total. This was up 414 or 6.00%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 35,262 visitors from Europe accounting for 5.24% of the total. This was up 4,308, or 13.92%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.18% (7,945 people), 0.85% (5,728 people), and 0.79% (5,328 people) of the total which were up 8.02%, up 20.64% ,and up 16.08% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 22,679 or 3.37%, up 2,549 or 12.66%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 205,090 or 30.47% up 24,977 or 13.87%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 135,655 or 66.14%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 673,102 visitors, 93.41% by air of whom 628,775. 509,787 visitors or 75.74% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 58,931 visitors or 8.76% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 6.59% by sea of whom 44,327. 4,825 visitors or 0.72% through Kaohsiung port, 4,146 visitors or 0.62% through Keelung, 953 visitors or 0.14% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 48.20% (324,436 people) while female were 51.80% (348,666 people).
   3. Age: There were 93,153 (13.84%) visitors under 19-year-old, 310,058 (46.06%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 208,599 (30.99%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 61,292 (9.11%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 449,065 (66.72%), 20,720 (3.08%), and 27,089 (4.02%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 137,299 people or 20.38%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying for 5-7 nights, 95,901 people or 14.23%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 2 nights, 94,627 people or 14.05%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in August was 7.38 nights.
