A total of 751,149 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in April, 2025, up 141,003 or 23.11% from the 610,146 in April of last year. The arrivals included 573,985 foreign visitors and 177,164 Overseas Chinese. Compared with April of last year, the number of foreign visitors up by 78,074 or 15.74%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors up by 62,929 or 55.09%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 47,606 or 6.34% of the total, up 68.40%, consisting of 906 foreign visitors, decline 7.36% and 46,700 Overseas Chinese, up 71.12%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 134,407 or 17.89% of the total, up 49.22%, consisting of 5,237 foreign visitors, up 14.62%, and 129,170 Overseas Chinese, up 51.07%.
   3. Japan accounted for 97,242 or 12.95% of the total, up 12.31%, consisting of 97,133 foreign visitors, up 12.32%, and 109 Overseas Chinese, up 3.81%.
   4. Korea, 79,291 or 10.56% of the total, up 15.21%, consisting of 79,155 foreign visitors, up 15.27%, and 136 Overseas Chinese, decline 12.26%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 233,363 or 31.07% of the total, up 7.61%, consisting of 232,948 foreign visitors, up 7.66%, and 415 Overseas Chinese, decline 12.63%.
   6. U.S.A., 65,710 or 8.75% of the total, up 26.43%, consisting of 65,300 foreign visitors, up 26.69%, and 410 Overseas Chinese, decline 4.21%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 16,239 or 2.16% of the total, up 22.51%, consisting of 16,206 foreign visitors, up 22.58%, and 33 Overseas Chinese, decline 2.94%.
   8. Europe, 44,240 or 5.89% of the total, up 35.17%, consisting of 44,196 foreign visitors, up 35.26%, and 44 Overseas Chinese, decline 18.52%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 33,051 or 4.40% of the total, up 53.14%, consisting of 32,904 foreign visitors, up 53.79%, and 147 Overseas Chinese, decline 21.39%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 97,308 visitors from Japan accounting for 12.95% of the total. This was up 10,877 or 12.58%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 80,634 visitors from Korea accounting for 10.73% of the total. This was up 11,357, or 16.39%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 233,713 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 31.11% of the total. This was up 17,724 or 8.21%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 67,533 visitors from U.S.A. accounting for 8.99% of the total. This was up 15,135 or 28.88%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 17,185 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 2.29% of the total. This was up 3,220, or 23.06%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 52,032 visitors from Europe accounting for 6.93% of the total. This was up 14,483, or 38.57%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.50% (11,295 people), 1.88% (14,130 people), and 0.82% (6,158 people) of the total which were up 31.63%, up 78.21% ,and up 7.36% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 25,580 or 3.41%, up 5,278 or 26.00%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 177,164 or 23.59% up 62,929 or 55.09%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 129,170 or 72.90%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 751,149 visitors, 93.64% by air of whom 703,399. 581,176 visitors or 77.37% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 59,311 visitors or 7.90% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 6.36% by sea of whom 47,750. 759 visitors or 0.10% through Kaohsiung port, 27,137 visitors or 3.61% through Keelung, 942 visitors or 0.13% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 47.67% (358,086 people) while female were 52.33% (393,063 people).
   3. Age: There were 65,638 (8.74%) visitors under 19-year-old, 319,473 (42.53%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 241,715 (32.18%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 124,323 (16.55%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 522,596 (69.57%), 44,342 (5.90%), and 28,936 (3.85%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 155,667 people or 21.60%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying 5-7 nights, 125,642 people or 17.43%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 4 nights, 108,837 people or 15.10%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in April was 7.05 nights.
