A total of 778,576 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in March, 2025, decline 33,032 or 4.07% from the 811,608 in March of last year. The arrivals included 643,150 foreign visitors and 135,426 Overseas Chinese. Compared with March of last year, the number of foreign visitors decline by 11,087 or 1.69%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decline by 21,945 or 13.94%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 48,315 or 6.21% of the total, up 59.88%, consisting of 844 foreign visitors, decline 8.95% and 47,471 Overseas Chinese, up 62.06%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 90,559 or 11.63% of the total, decline 32.21%, consisting of 3,856 foreign visitors, decline 45.26%, and 86,703 Overseas Chinese, decline 31.49%.
   3. Japan accounted for 154,672 or 19.87% of the total, up 1.92%, consisting of 154,566 foreign visitors, up 1.94%, and 106 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.06%.
   4. Korea, 89,140 or 11.45% of the total, decline 4.72%, consisting of 88,995 foreign visitors, decline 4.73%, and 145 Overseas Chinese, up 0.69%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 238,493 or 30.63% of the total, decline 4.94%, consisting of 238,094 foreign visitors, decline 4.92%, and 399 Overseas Chinese, decline 16.53%.
   6. U.S.A., 68,011 or 8.74% of the total, up 5.11%, consisting of 67,633 foreign visitors, up 5.23%, and 378 Overseas Chinese, decline 12.30%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 13,886 or 1.78% of the total, up 9.68%, consisting of 13,866 foreign visitors, up 9.82%, and 20 Overseas Chinese, decline 41.18%.
   8. Europe, 39,786 or 5.11% of the total, decline 16.01%, consisting of 39,753 foreign visitors, decline 15.91%, and 33 Overseas Chinese, decline 63.74%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 35,714 or 4.59% of the total, up 32.99%, consisting of 35,543 foreign visitors, up 33.44%, and 171 Overseas Chinese, decline 21.56%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 154,376 visitors from Japan accounting for 19.83% of the total. This was up 3,053 or 2.02%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 90,380 visitors from Korea accounting for 11.61% of the total. This was decline 3,590, or 3.82%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 238,720 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 30.66% of the total. This was decline 10,995 or 4.40%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 69,641 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 8.94% of the total. This was up 3,628 or 5.50%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 14,979 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.92% of the total. This was up 1,210, or 8.79%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 46,135 visitors from Europe accounting for 5.93% of the total. This was decline 7,230, or 13.55%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.56% (12,108 people), 1.26% (9,803 people), and 0.63% (4,890 people) of the total which were up 2.27%, decline 39.04% ,and decline 13.10% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 28,919 or 3.71%, up 2,837 or 10.88%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 135,426 or 17.39% decline 21,945 or 13.94%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 86,703 or 64.02%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 778,576 visitors, 93.90% by air of whom 731,101. 604,361 visitors or 77.62% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 56,936 visitors or 7.31% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 6.10% by sea of whom 47,475. 3,841 visitors or 0.49% through Kaohsiung port, 22,283 visitors or 2.86% through Keelung, 755 visitors or 0.10% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 47.72% (371,561 people) while female were 52.28% (407,015 people).
   3. Age: There were 61,760 (7.93%) visitors under 19-year-old, 330,000 (42.39%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 246,170 (31.62%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 140,646 (18.06%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 545,129 (70.02%), 56,965 (7.32%), and 28,891 (3.71%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 195,226 people or 24.66%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying 5-7 nights, 122,999 people or 15.54%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 2 nights, 120,160 people or 15.18%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in March was 6.39 nights.
