A total of 539,454 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in July, 2024, decline 3,934 or 0.72% from the 543,388 in July of last year. The arrivals included 387,424 foreign visitors and 152,030 Overseas Chinese. Compared with July of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 8,903 or 2.35%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decline by 12,837 or 7.79%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 36,034 or 6.68% of the total, up 35.16%, consisting of 684 foreign visitors, up 5.23% and 35,350 Overseas Chinese, up 35.90%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 119,382 or 22.13% of the total, decline 16.47%, consisting of 4,400 foreign visitors, decline 31.98%, and 114,982 Overseas Chinese, decline 15.74%.
   3. Japan accounted for 73,734 or 13.67% of the total, up 3.89%, consisting of 73,641 foreign visitors, up 3.95%, and 93 Overseas Chinese, decline 30.60%.
   4. Korea, 51,663 or 9.58% of the total, up 8.06%, consisting of 51,498 foreign visitors, up 8.21%, and 165 Overseas Chinese, decline 25.68%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 153,020 or 28.37% of the total, decline 5.09%, consisting of 152,647 foreign visitors, decline 5.00%, and 373 Overseas Chinese, decline 31.43%.
   6. U.S.A., 53,911 or 9.99% of the total, up 12.80%, consisting of 53,226 foreign visitors, up 13.46%, and 685 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.42%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 7,024 or 1.30% of the total, up 2.33%, consisting of 7,000 foreign visitors, up 2.58%, and 24 Overseas Chinese, decline 40.00%.
   8. Europe, 24,139 or 4.47% of the total, up 5.32%, consisting of 24,005 foreign visitors, up 5.89%, and 134 Overseas Chinese, decline 46.40%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 20,547 or 3.81% of the total, up 26.68%, consisting of 20,323 foreign visitors, up 27.87%, and 224 Overseas Chinese, decline 31.29%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 73,916 visitors from Japan accounting for 13.70% of the total. This was up 2,951 or 4.16%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 51,873 visitors from Korea accounting for 9.62% of the total. This was up 4,078, or 8.53%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 153,275 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 28.41% of the total. This was decline 7,200 or 4.49%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 54,061 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 10.02% of the total. This was up 5,926 or 12.31%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 7,937 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.47% of the total. This was up 81 or 1.03%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 28,270 visitors from Europe accounting for 5.24% of the total. This was up 1,535 or 5.74%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.23% (6,653 people), 0.68% (3,684 people), and 0.77% (4,167 people) of the total which were decline 3.38%, decline 4.76%, and up 10.21% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 18,092 or 3.35%, up 1,532 or 9.25%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 152,030 or 28.18%, decline 12,837 or 7.79%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 114,982 or 75.63%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 539,454 visitors, 98.46% by air of whom 531,162. 432,395 visitors or 80.15% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 48,851 visitors or 9.06% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 1.54% by sea of whom 8,292. 1,247 visitors or 0.23% through Kaohsiung port, 2,060 visitors or 0.38% through Keelung, 757 visitors or 0.14% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 49.08% (264,768 people) while female were 50.92% (274,686 people).
   3. Age: There were 79,773 (14.79%) visitors under 19-year-old, 233,460 (43.28%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 173,054 (32.08%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 53,167 (9.86%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 339,398 (62.92%), 39,366 (7.30%), and 34,661 (6.43%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 103,979 people or 19.33%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying 5-7 nights, 86,106 people or 16.01%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 4 nights, 78,597 people or 14.61%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in July was 7.99 nights.
