A total of 571,510 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in June, 2024, increasing61,817 or 12.13% from the 509,693 in June of last year. The arrivals included 434,394 foreign visitors and 137,116 Overseas Chinese. Compared with June of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 53,214 or 13.96%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors increased by 8,603 or 6.69%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 30,918 or 5.41% of the total, up 104.52%, consisting of 786 foreign visitors, up 5.36% and 30,132 Overseas Chinese, up 109.67%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 109,604 or 19.18% of the total, decline 6.84%, consisting of 4,601 foreign visitors, decline 23.15%, and 105,003 Overseas Chinese, decline 5.97%.
   3. Japan accounted for 76,108 or 13.32% of the total, up 29.51%, consisting of 76,010 foreign visitors, up 29.51%, and 98 Overseas Chinese, up 30.67%.
   4. Korea, 51,656 or 9.04% of the total, up 7.78%, consisting of 51,526 foreign visitors, up 7.83%, and 130 Overseas Chinese, decline 8.45%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 183,188 or 32.05% of the total, up 4.27%, consisting of 182,697 foreign visitors, up 4.33%, and 491 Overseas Chinese, decline 13.56%.
   6. U.S.A., 68,660 or 12.01% of the total, up 23.79%, consisting of 67,660 foreign visitors, up 24.85%, and 1,000 Overseas Chinese, decline 21.20%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 8,323 or1.46% of the total, up 26.84%, consisting of 8,295 foreign visitors, up 27.52%, and 28 Overseas Chinese, decline 50.88%.
   8. Europe, 22,119 or 3.87% of the total, up 21.01%, consisting of 22,048 foreign visitors, up 21.23%, and 71 Overseas Chinese, decline 21.98%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 20,934 or 3.66% of the total, up 47.03%, consisting of 20,771 foreign visitors, up 48.71%, and 163 Overseas Chinese, decline 39.85%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 76,348 visitors from Japan accounting for 13.36% of the total. This was up 17,436 or 29.60%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 51,944 visitors from Korea accounting for 9.09% of the total. This was up 3,974, or 8.28%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 182,827 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 31.99% of the total. This was up 8,425 or 4.83%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 68,287 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 11.95% of the total. This was up 12,981 or 23.47%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 9,209 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.61% of the total. This was up 1,654, or 21.89%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 27,026 visitors from Europe accounting for 4.73% of the total. This was up 4,798, or 21.59%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.18% (6,742 people), 0.67% (3,814 people), and 0.63% (3,603 people) of the total which were up 5.97%, up 23.63%, and up 23.52% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 18,753 or 3.28%, up 3,946 or 26.65%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 137,116 or 23.99%, up 8,603 or 6.69%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 105,003 or 76.58%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 571,510 visitors, 97.17% by air of whom 555,330. 459,044 visitors or 80.32% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 48,432 visitors or 8.47% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 2.83% by sea of whom 16,180. 3,854 visitors or 0.67% through Kaohsiung port, 8,239 visitors or 1.44% through Keelung, 601 visitors or 0.11% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 50.02% (285,873 people) while female were 49.98% (285,637 people).
   3. Age: There were 62,690 (10.97%) visitors under 19-year-old, 253,012 (44.27%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 186,828 (32.69%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 68,980 (12.07%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 362,239 (63.38%), 47,536 (8.32%), and 34,006 (5.95%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 111,557 people or 19.50%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying 5-7 nights, 102,459 people or 17.91%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 4 nights, 79,539 people or 13.90%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in June was 7.51 nights.
