A total of 648,348 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in February, 2024, increasing 279,250 or 75.66% from the 369,098 in February of last year. The arrivals included 514,485 foreign visitors and 133,863 Overseas Chinese. Compared with February of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 175,929 or 51.96%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors increased by 103,321 or 338.29%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 37,719 or 5.82% of the total, up 303.58%, consisting of 1,092 foreign visitors, up 349.38%and 36,627 Overseas Chinese, up 302.36%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 101,076 or 15.59% of the total, up 348.55%, consisting of 5,379 foreign visitors, up 107.76%, and 95,697 Overseas Chinese, up 379.80%.
   3. Japan accounted for 101,464 or 15.65% of the total, up 121.95%, consisting of 101,349 foreign visitors, up 122.27%, and 115 Overseas Chinese, decline 1.71%.
   4. Korea, 110,210 or 17.00% of the total, up 86.18%, consisting of 109,996 foreign visitors, up 86.50%, and 214 Overseas Chinese, decline 1.38%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 199,359 or 30.75% of the total, up 16.64%, consisting of 198,870 foreign visitors, up 16.71%, and 489 Overseas Chinese, decline 8.26%.
   6. U.S.A., 43,979 or 6.78% of the total, up 69.63%, consisting of 43,568 foreign visitors, up 70.25%, and 411 Overseas Chinese, up 22.32%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 7,384 or 1.14% of the total, up 50.11%, consisting of 7,345 foreign visitors, up 50.76%, and 39 Overseas Chinese, decline 17.02%.
   8. Europe, 26,899 or 4.15% of the total, up 45.53%, consisting of 26,817 foreign visitors, up 45.71%, and 82 Overseas Chinese, up 2.50%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 20,258 or 3.12% of the total, up 68.05%, consisting of 20,069 foreign visitors, up 68.77%, and 189 Overseas Chinese, up 15.24%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 101,456 visitors from Japan accounting for 15.65% of the total. This was up 56,017 or 123.28%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 110,310 visitors from Korea accounting for 17.01% of the total. This was up 51,288, or 86.90%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 198,897 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 30.68% of the total. This was up 29,206 or 17.21%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 44,861 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 6.92% of the total. This was up 18,692 or 71.43%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 8,165 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.26% of the total. This was up 2,950, or 56.57%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 30,892 visitors from Europe accounting for 4.76% of the total. This was up 10,421, or 50.91%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.14% (7,374 people), 0.78% (5,046 people), and 0.72% (4,699 people) of the total which were up 69.24%, up 37.79%, and up 47.30% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 19,904 or 3.07%, up 7,355 or 58.61%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 133,863 or 20.65%, up 103,321 or 338.29%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 95,697 or 71.49%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 648,348 visitors, 95.97% by air of whom 622,243. 521,174 visitors or 80.38% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 47,917 visitors or 7.39% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 4.03% by sea of whom 26,105. 4,317visitors or 0.67% through Kaohsiung port, 16,775 visitors or 2.59% through Keelung, 269 visitors or 0.04% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 46.82% (303,528 people) while female were 53.18% (344,820 people).
   3. Age: There were 60,347 (9.31%) visitors under 19-year-old, 283,647 (43.75%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 200,553 (30.93%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 103,801 (16.01%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 408,063 (62.94%), 25,051 (3.86%), and 37,588 (5.80%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 135,482 people or 23.29%, stayed 3 nights. Visitors staying over 90 nights, 95,609 people or 16.43%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 5-7 nights, 88,605 people or 15.23%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in February was 7.49 nights.
