A total of 509,693 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in June, 2023, increasing 471,239 or 1225.46% from the 38,454 in June of last year. The arrivals included 381,180 foreign visitors and 128,513 Overseas Chinese. Compared with June of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 345,934 or 981.48%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors increased by 125,305 or 3906.02%.

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 15,117 or 2.97% of the total, up 1452.05%, consisting of 746 foreign visitors, up 18550.00% and 14,371 Overseas Chinese, up 1381.55%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 117,656 or 23.08% of the total, up 16241.11%, consisting of 5,987 foreign visitors, up 29835.00%, and 111,669 Overseas Chinese, up 15852.71%.
   3. Japan accounted for 58,767 or 11.53% of the total, up 3884.20%, consisting of 58,692 foreign visitors, up 3956.12%, and 75 Overseas Chinese, up 167.86%.
   4. Korea, 47,926 or 9.40% of the total, up 8488.89%, consisting of 47,784 foreign visitors, up 8798.32%, and 142 Overseas Chinese, up 576.19%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 175,686 or 34.47% of the total, up 577.62%, consisting of 175,118 foreign visitors, up 579.30%, and 568 Overseas Chinese, up 283.78%.
   6. U.S.A., 55,463 or 10.88% of the total, up 1387.34%, consisting of 54,194 foreign visitors, up 1956.70%, and 1,269 Overseas Chinese, up 16.00%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 6,562or 1.29% of the total, up 3100.98%, consisting of 6,505 foreign visitors, up 3638.51%, and 57 Overseas Chinese, up 83.87%.
   8. Europe, 18,278 or 3.59% of the total, up 519.17%, consisting of 18,187 foreign visitors, up 541.52%, and 91 Overseas Chinese, decline 22.22%.
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 14,238 or 2.79% of the total, up 643.89%, consisting of 13,967 foreign visitors, up 669.53%, and 271 Overseas Chinese, up 173.74%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 58,912 visitors from Japan accounting for 11.56% of the total. This was up 57,443 or 3910.35%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 47,970 visitors from Korea accounting for 9.41% of the total. This was up 47,407 or 8420.43%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 174,402 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 34.22% of the total. This was up 148,102 or 563.13%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 55,306 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 10.85% of the total. This was up 52,621 or 1959.81%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 7,555 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.48% of the total. This was up 7,375 or 4097.22%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 22,228 visitors from Europe accounting for 4.36% of the total. This was up 19,310, or 661.75%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.25% (6,362 people), 0.61% (3,085 people), and 0.57% (2,917 people) of the total which were up 749.40%, up 1159.18%, and up 1090.61% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 14,807 or 2.91%, up 13,676 or 1209.20%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 128,513 or 25.21%, up 125,305 or 3906.02%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 111,669 or 86.89% of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 509,693 visitors, 96.46% by air of whom 491,662. 415,371 visitors or 81.49% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 39,484 visitors or 7.75% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 3.54% by sea of whom 18,031. 10,217 visitors or 2.00% through Kaohsiung port, 5,420 visitors or 1.06% through Keelung, 589 visitors or 0.12% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 48.35% (246,437 people) while female were 51.65% (263,256 people).
   3. Age: There were 55,375 (10.86%) visitors under 19-year-old, 216,016 (42.38%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 164,628 (32.30%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 73,674 (14.45%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 330,059 (64.76%), 33,994 (6.67%), and 37,573 (7.37%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 102,774 people or 19.54%, stayed 5-7 nights. Visitors staying 3 nights, 94,699 people or 18.01%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for over 90 nights, 84,023 people or 15.98%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in June was 7.88 nights.
