Visitor Statistical Analysis for October, 2022
A total of 93,206 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in October, 2022, increasing 79,099 or 560.71% from the 14,107 in October of last year. The arrivals included 87,003　foreign visitors and 6,203 Overseas Chinese. Compared with October of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 76,475 or 726.40%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors increased by 2,624 or 73.32%.
 

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 2,461 or 2.64% of the total, up 53.33%, consisting of 18 foreign visitors, up 0%and 2,443 Overseas Chinese, up 52.21%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 3,147or 3.38% of the total, up 86.10%, consisting of 471 foreign visitors, up 5787.50%, and 2,676 Overseas Chinese, up 59.00%.
   3. Japan accounted for 9,625 or 10.33% of the total, up 804.61%, consisting of 9,554 foreign visitors, up 810.77%, and 71 Overseas Chinese, up 373.33%.
   4. Korea, 4,867 or 5.22% of the total, up 1,595.82%, consisting of 4,808 foreign visitors, up 1,629.50%, and 59 Overseas Chinese, up 555.56%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 48,180 or 51.69% of the total, up 751.54%, consisting of 47,855 foreign visitors, up 751.66%, and 325 Overseas Chinese, up 733.33%.
   6. U.S.A., 10,361 or 11.12% of the total, up 935.06%, consisting of 10,034 foreign visitors, up 1,062.69%, and 327 Overseas Chinese, up 136.96%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 1,576 or 1.69% of the total, up 2,252.24%, consisting of 1,518 foreign visitors, up 2,388.52%, and 58 Overseas Chinese, up 866.67%.
   8. Europe, 7,992 or 8.57% of the total, up 379.14%, consisting of 7,899 foreign visitors, up 384.60%, and 93 Overseas Chinese, up 144.74%
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 4,997 or 5.36% of the total, up 368.76%, consisting of 4,846 foreign visitors, up 375.10%, and 151 Overseas Chinese, up 228.26%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 9,577 visitors from Japan accounting for 10.28% of the total. This was up 8,530 or 814.71%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 4,841 visitors from Korea accounting for 5.19% of the total. This was up 4,562, or 1,635.13%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 47,724 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 51.20% of the total. This was up 42,099 or 748.43%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 10,108 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 10.84% of the total. This was up 9,248 or 1075.35%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 1,595 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 1.71% of the total. This was up 1,532, or 2,431.75%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 8,330 visitors from Europe accounting for 8.94% of the total. This was up 6,697, or 410.10%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.98% (1,845 people), 1.37% (1,274 people), and 1.20% (1,115 people) of the total which were up 542.86%, up 667.47%, and up 679.72% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 4,828 or 5.18%, up 3,807 or 372.87%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 6,203 or 6.66%, included 2,624 or 73.32%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 2,676 or 43.14%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 93,206 visitors, 98.57% by air of whom 91,877. 84,339 visitors or 90.49% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 2,175 visitors or 2.33% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 1.43% by sea of whom 1,329. 374 visitors or 0.40% through Kaohsiung port, 37 visitors or 0.04% through Keelung, 334 visitors or 0.36% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 60.91% (56,772 people) while female were 39.09% (36,434 people).
   3. Age: There were 6,510 (6.98%) visitors under 19-year-old, 47,805 (51.29%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 30,166 (32.36%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 8,725 (9.36%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 18,000 (19.31%), 15,778 (16.93%), and 10,263 (11.01%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 26,710 people or 37.80%, stayed over 90 nights. Visitors staying 8-15 nights, 9,765 people or 13.82%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 5-7 nights, 7,898 people or 11.18%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in October was 15.96 nights.
