A total of 49,991 visitors arrived in the Republic of China in July, 2022, increasing 44,511 or 812.24% from the 5,480 in July of last year. The arrivals included 45,473 foreign visitors and 4,518 Overseas Chinese. Compared with July of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 41,391 or 1013.99%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors increased by 3,120 or 223.18%.
 

1. Main markets by residence
   1. Mainland China accounted for 1,813 or 3.63% of the total, up 250.00%, consisting of 7 foreign visitors, up 0%, and 1,806 Overseas Chinese, up 248.65%.
   2. Hong Kong and Macao, 1,026 or 2.05% of the total, up 64.16%, consisting of 41 foreign visitors, up 4000%, and 985 Overseas Chinese, up 57.85%.
   3. Japan accounted for 3,210 or 6.42% of the total, up 762.90%, consisting of 3,149 foreign visitors, up 765.11%, and 61 Overseas Chinese, up 662.50%.
   4. Korea, 1,181 or 2.36% of the total, up 815.50%, consisting of 1,139 foreign visitors, up 865.25%, and 42 Overseas Chinese, up 281.82%.
   5. Southeast Asia, 29,794 or 59.60% of the total, up 2123.43%, consisting of 29,568 foreign visitors, up 2134.92%, and 226 Overseas Chinese, up 1229.41%.
   6. U.S.A., 5,006 or 10.01% of the total, up 305.34%, consisting of 4,120 foreign visitors, up 279.72%, and 886 Overseas Chinese, up 490.67%.
   7. Australia and New Zealand, 403 or 0.81% of the total, up 989.19%, consisting of 355 foreign visitors, up 1009.38%, and 48 Overseas Chinese, up 860.00%.
   8. Europe, 4,842 or 9.69% of the total, up 430.34%, consisting of 4,575 foreign visitors, up 418.12%, and 267 Overseas Chinese, up 790.00%
   9. Other countries or regions accounted for 2,716 or 5.43% of the total, up 773.31%, consisting of 2,519 foreign visitors, up 812.68%, and 197 Overseas Chinese, up 462.86%.
2. Main markets by country of nationality
   1. There were 3,146 visitors from Japan accounting for 6.29% of the total. This was up 2,781 or 761.92%, from the number in the same month last year.
   2. There were 1,146 visitors from Korea accounting for 2.29% of the total. This was up 1,029, or 879.49%, from the number in the same month last year.
   3. There were 29,590 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 59.19% of the total. This was up 28,215 or 2052.00%, from the number in the same month last year.
   4. There were 4,132 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 8.27% of the total. This was up 3,047 or 280.83%, from the number in the same month last year.
   5. There were 365 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 0.73% of the total. This was up 333, or 1040.63%, from the number in the same month last year.
   6. There were 4,596 visitors from Europe accounting for 9.19% of the total. This was up 3,712, or 419.91%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.95% (977 people), 1.18% (591 people), and 1.15% (576 people) of the total which were up 657.36%, up 427.68%, and up 453.85% from the number in the same month last year.
   7. Other nationals accounted for 2,498 or 5.00%, up 2,274 or 1015.18%.
   8. Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 4,518 or 9.04%, up 3,120 or 223.18%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 985 or 21.80%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.
3.  Main markets by type of visitor
   1. Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 49,991 visitors, 97.08% by air of whom 48,529. 46,159 visitors or 92.33% through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 539 visitors or 1.08% through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 2.92% by sea of whom 1,462. 644 visitors or 1.29% through Kaohsiung port, 7 visitors or 0.01% through Keelung, 518 8visitors or 1.04% through Taichung.
   2. Gender: Male visitors accounted for 63.92% (31,952 people) while female were 36.08% (18,039 people).
   3. Age: There were 5,749 (11.50%) visitors under 19-year-old, 29,742 (59.49%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 12,525 (25.05%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 1,975 (3.95%) over 60-year-old.
   4. Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 71 (0.14%), 4314 (8.63%), and 4,374 (8.75%) visitors.
   5. Length of stay: Most of visitors, 37,226 people or 74.53%, stayed over 90 nights. Visitors staying 31-60 nights, 4,186 people or 8.38%, ranked second. Visitors stayed for 16-30 nights, 3,346 people or 6.70%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in July was 30.63 nights.
