The arrivals included 586,506 foreign visitors and 226,464 Overseas Chinese. Compared with January of last year, the number of foreign visitors increased by 49,961 or 9.31%, and the number of Overseas Chinese visitors decreased by 104,702 or 31.62%.

- Mainland China accounted for 91,085 or 11.20% of the total, down 61.87%, consisting of 2,920 foreign visitors, up 46.96%, and 88,165 Overseas Chinese, down 62.79%.
- Hong Kong and Macao, 145,472 or 17.89% of the total, up 44.46%, consisting of 9,015 foreign visitors, up 9.95%, and 136,457 Overseas Chinese, up 47.51%.
- Japan accounted for 135,614 or 16.68% of the total, down 7.23%, consisting of 135,469 foreign visitors, down 7.25%, and 145 Overseas Chinese, up 17.89%.
- Korea, 152,937 or 18.81% of the total, up 30.74%, consisting of 152,620 foreign visitors, up 30.81%, and 317 Overseas Chinese, up 3.59%.
- Southeast Asia, 171,255 or 21.07% of the total, up 6.66%, consisting of 170,680 foreign visitors, up 6.67%, and 575 Overseas Chinese, up 4.55%.
- U.S.A., 49,416 or 6.08% of the total, up 8.61%, consisting of 49,036 foreign visitors, up 8.64%, and 380 Overseas Chinese, up 5.26%.
- Australia and New Zealand, 16,416 or 2.02% of the total, up 17.29%, consisting of 16,344 foreign visitors, up 17.27%, and 72 Overseas Chinese, up 22.03%.
- Europe, 29,368 or 3.61% of the total, up 11.32%, consisting of 29,302 foreign visitors, up 11.31%, and 66 Overseas Chinese, up 15.79%.
- Other countries or regions accounted for 21,407 or 2.63% of the total, up 15.69%, consisting of 21,120 foreign visitors, up 15.94%, and 287 Overseas Chinese, up 0%.

- There were 135,696 visitors from Japan accounting for 16.69% of the total. This was down 10,245 or 7.02%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 153,319 visitors from Korea accounting for 18.86% of the total. This was up 36,164, or 30.87%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 171,216 visitors from Southeast Asia accounting for 21.06% of the total. This was up 11,350, or 7.10%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 51,098 visitors from U.S.A accounting for 6.29% of the total. This was up 4,833, or 10.45%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 17,440 visitors from Australia and New Zealand accounting for 2.15% of the total. This was up 2,506, or 16.78%, from the number in the same month last year.
- There were 35,072 visitors from Europe accounting for 4.31% of the total. This was up 3,602, or 11.45%, from the number in the same month last year. Visitors from U.K., Germany, and France accounted for 1.17% (9,490 people), 0.58% (4,734 people), and 0.62% (5,024 people) of the total which were up 18.95%, down 10.31%, and up 12.39% from the number in the same month last year.

- Overseas Chinese visitors accounted for 226,464 or 27.86%, down 104,702 or -31.62%. Overseas Chinese visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 136,457, or 60.26%, of the total Overseas Chinese visitors.

- Mode of transportation and port of entry: There were 784,286 visitors, 96.47%, by air of whom 624,578, or 76.83%, through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, 81,953, or 10.08%, through Kaohsiung Airport. Meanwhile, there were 28,684 visitors, 3.53%, by sea, 1,382 people, or 0.17%, through Kaohsiung port, 6,802 people, or 0.84%, through Keelung, 447 people, or 0.05%, through Taichung.
- Gender: Male visitors accounted for 47.48% (385,984 people) while female were 52.52% (426,986 people).
- Age: There were 89,085 (10.96%) visitors under 19-year-old, 343,467 (42.25%) between 20 to 39-year-old, 274,264(33.74%) between 40 to 59-year-old, and 106,157(13.06%) over 59-year-old.
- Purpose of visit: The main purposes are Leisure, business, and relatives visiting with 486,595 (59.85%), 42,717 (5.25%), and 52,915 (6.51%) visitors.
- Length of stay: Most of visitors, 226,325 people or 22.94%, stayed for 3 nights. Visitors staying 5 to 7 nights, 170,125 people or 17.24%, ranked second. Visitors staying 4 nights, 137,623 people or 13.95%, ranked third. The average length of stay of visitors leaving in January was 6.83 nights.
