Date:113-08-31 Hits:16

Taiwan Tourism Administration is hosting a one-off brand-new launch event, “TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder”, at the historical landmark Battersea Power Station starting from August 30 to September 1, 2024. Based on its brand concept – Waves of Wonder – visitors can experience the unique charm and highlights of traveling in Taiwan throughout the four seasons.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Taiwan Tourism Administration aims to promote key seasonal attractions, focusing on the Taiwan Lantern Festival, Solar Festival in Taiwan, tea culture tours, and hot springs. This campaign showcases Taiwan's distinctive year-round tourism activities and features, with the goal of attracting a large audience and significant attention.

The opening event was hosted by Linda Yu-Shan Lin, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration - London Office, and was attended by Dr. Hui-chien Liu, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Representative Office; Hung-Mei Huang, General Manager of the China Airlines UK Branch; Yen-Cheng Lai, Marketing and Sales Manager of the EVA Air UK Branch; and Evelyn Lee, President of the UK Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, to inaugurate the event.

Director Linda Lin noted that British tourists are among the largest groups of visitors from Europe, and the event aims to introduce Taiwan to more British individuals. She also affirmed that the focuses of the second half of the year have been to enhance brand visibility through various platforms, such as the London Underground, taxis, and buses. Additionally, we will continue to collaborate with major airline companies and travel agencies to provide an even better travel experience for British visitors.

Dr. Hui-chien Liu stated that rich and diverse travel resources, friendly locals, and convenient life amenities make Taiwan a great destination for working holidays. Both the UK and Taiwan have opened 1,000 places for working holiday visas from each country, providing a fantastic opportunity for young people interested in exploring an exotic life experience.

This is the first promotional campaign after the brand-new launch, where visitors are surrounded by a recreational art installation featuring large sky lanterns, which give visitors a glimpse into the Lantern Festival in Taiwan. The decorations include elements of Taiwan banquets, natural hot spring sites, and even pinball games from night markets, with a chance to win a fun prize from BAO!

Taiwan Tourism Administration announced that Taiwan has recently been honored with the “Best Leisure Destination in Asia” award at the 12th annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards by the prestigious American travel magazine, Global Traveler. This recognition underscores Taiwan’s strong appeal among European and American travelers. The Tourism Administration plans to continue its brand promotion campaign in Paris and New York, engaging with local communities and aiming to continue to attract more visitors to Taiwan.
