Booking for Free Guided Cycling; and Tourism Boosted through Training

To promote the concept of slow travel by bikes and low-carbon tourism, the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters has officially launched the “Guided Cycling Tour Application” service on its official website. Visitors interested in exploring the scenic highlights of Taiwan’s North Coast by bikes can now book for this service. Professional cycling guides will lead riders through the region at a leisurely, 15 kilometer-per-hour pace. Tours can be booked with as few as four participants, so gather your friends and come experience a different kind of wind-chasing, wave-side cycling adventure. This year, young, talented students from the National Taiwan University, Tamkang University, Fu Jen Catholic University, and MacKay Medical College have joined this initiative, bringing youthful energy to the North Coast guided cycling tours.

Explore the North Coast the Low-Carbon Way: Take Shuttle Buses, Bike, and Discover

Starting today, the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters is offering guided cycling tours, which can be booked with as few as four participants. Also, during the promotional period, the first 50 participants can join the tours free of charge (not including bike rental, meals, and other expenses). Those who complete the guided cycling tours and fill out an online questionnaire will receive a special gift—available while supplies last. The cycling tour offers three themed routes, which are the “Twin Bay & Twin Lighthouse” route, “Bike Fun with the Queen” route, and “Keelung Waimushan Coastal Cycling” route. The “Twin Bay & Twin Lighthouse” route presents a relaxed route perfect for families and seniors, passing through the Baisha Bay, Qianshui Bay, and Fugui Cape Lighthouse; visitors can also enjoy seafood at the Fugi Harbor. The “Bike Fun with the Queen” route is a scenic route offering Ubike rentals and featuring the Yehliu Geopark—praised by CNN as one of Asia’s top 10 must-see attractions—and the Jinshan Old Street known for its duck meat. The “Keelung Waimushan Coastal Cycling” route starts from the Keelung Train Station, exploring the Waimushan coastal recreation area, providing views of the Keelung Islet, and boasting seaside cafés with unbeatable ocean views—perfect for catching the stunning evening sunset.

To promote sustainable low-carbon tourism, visitors are encouraged to take public transportation. They may ride the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle: Crown Northern Coast Shuttle Bus line from the Tamsui MRT Station and disembark at the Baisha Bay Visitor Center or Yehliu Geopark, depending on their chosen route. For the third theme route, they may take a train directly to the Keelung Train Station from Taipei.
