The highly anticipated “Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” event will be held from June 28 (Sat) to July 13 (Sun), 2025 between 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Yehliu Geopark. This year, the Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters will present the theme “the aesthetics of geological landscapes,” blending art, creativity, and technology together to highlight the magnificent rock formations of the geopark. A major highlight this year will be the “Crowning Celebration: Queen’s Transformation Show” in the Queen’s Head zone, showcasing artworks collaboratively created by renowned domestic artists as well as schoolchildren and teachers from local elementary and junior high schools. Fusing Yehliu’s natural beauty with artistic energy, the event invites both domestic and international visitors to step into Yehliu’s enchanting summer nights and enjoy this limited-time art, light, and shadow “party.”
The “Yehliu Night Tours” event begins with the visitor-welcoming “Dazzling Light and Colors” light corridor at the entrance, where luminous fish glide between coral reefs beneath visitors’ feet, greeting the visitors. For the “Light and Shadow Spectacle” activity in the Simulation zone, adorable marine-themed lanterns twinkle in the night, accompanied by a lifelike replica of the Queen’s Head and dynamic projection mapping displays, which are great for snapping memorable photos. For the “Ocean Celebration” activity in the Princess zone, undersea creatures weave through mushroom-shaped rocks, giving birth to a fairytale-like underwater world. For the “Exploration Celebration” activity in the Cliff zone, visitors can interact via mobile devices to summon unique flora and fauna native to Yehliu, embarking on a nature-themed journey. For the “Couple Celebration” at the Liying Lake zone, laser pens outline the iconic rock formations of Yehliu. Finally, for the “Crowning Celebration” activity in the Queen’s Head zone, the Queen’s Head is brought front and center, with hundreds of imaginative artworks “reimagining” her in various styles: playful, graceful, and everything in between. Each transformation dazzles the eye, creating a perfect ending to the journey.
The Northguan Scenic Area Headquarters noted that this marks the seventh year of the “Yehliu Night Tours: See the Queen’s Head Illuminated at Night” event. This year’s theme is “the geological features of the Yehliu Geopark,” where the size and quantity of light installations are reduced to emphasize harmony with natural landscapes and the irreplaceable beauty of such landscapes. A special highlight of this year’s night tour is the debut of the artistic reinterpretations of the Queen’s Head, created under the theme “my vision of the Queen’s Head.” For the said reinterpretations, professional artists and schoolchildren from local elementary and junior high schools are invited to express their imaginations of and emotional connections with the Queen’s Head through paintings, breathing new life into the geopark and unveiling the Queen’s Head’s one-of-a-kind transformation show.
This year’s night tour offers a diverse and enriching experience. In addition to the light installations, a series of exciting activities in the surrounding areas has been planned. Among them is the weekend-only “Twilight Market,” which brings together six unique organizations from the Crown Coast tourism areas, including the Yehliu Geopark, Heping Island Geopark, Lovers’ Lake “Ring the Life of the Mountain,” Yangzhu International Art Center, Cafe Bayland Mountain (a café with amazing views), and Jinshan Flame Fishing. From June 28 to 29, July 4 to 6, and July 11 to 13 during evening hours, these organizations will showcase the rich cultural and tourism appeal of Taiwan’s North Coast right inside the Yehliu Geopark. On weekends, the “Stamp Trail: Glowing Impressions” event will be held. Visitors can pick up an exclusive card at the park’s service desk after completing designated tasks. As visitors explore the park, they can collect stamps from each themed lighting zone to complete a dreamy, collectible souvenir card, serving as a meaningful keepsake from their visit. Additionally, the “Queen’s Concert” will be held from July 1 to 3 and July 8 to 10, every evening between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Visitors are invited to enjoy the ocean breeze while listening to live music, allowing each moment of Yehliu’s summer nights be filled with romance and heartfelt ambiance.
