Scope of Administration
Established on November 26, 2005, the Siraya National Scenic Area covers 91,450 hectares, spanning 14 districts in Tainan City and Dapu Township in Chiayi County. Characterized by the key arteries of National Highway 3 and Provincial Highway 3 in a vertical orientation, the Siraya National Scenic Area is a typical reservoir scenic area and holds the distinction of being the 13th “National Level” scenic area in Taiwan.
On June 26, 2012, the Siraya National Scenic Area Headquarters announced the initial expansion, incorporating six additional villages in Zhongpu Township, resulting in a total area of 95,470 hectares. On November 3, 2022, a second public announcement was made to further expand the jurisdiction. This expansion included the Jibeishua (Kabuasua) Tribe in Dongshan District (parts of Keli Village and Donghe Village), as well as parts of Longci District (parts of Niupu Village and Longchuan Village).
The current administrative jurisdiction of the Headquarters encompasses the entire Zuozhen District, Nanxi District, Danei District, Shanshang District, and Yujing District of Tainan City. It also includes the entire Dapu Township in Chiayi County as well as parts of Baihe District, Xinhua District, Xinshi District, Shanhua District, Guantian District, Liujia District, Liuying District, Dongshan District, Nanhua District, and Longci District of Tainan City.Additionally, parts of Shilong Village in Zhongpu Township,Chiayi County, fall within this jurisdiction.In total, the area coners 96,682 hectares and is organized into three major travel routes for tourism development and planning.
- Colorful Artistic Land: Starting at National Highway 3 and extending along Provincial Highway 84, this travel route winds through Danei, Xinhua, and Zuozhen, spanning diverse regions such as Danei, Shanshang, Xinhua, Zuozhen, and Longci. It serves as a cultural and art corridor, enriched with history and humanities.
- Romantic Hot Spring: Spanning from Guanziling to Wasanto, this picturesque travel route commences at Taiwan County Road 172, just below the Baihe Interchange of National Highway 3, and traverses through Baihe, Dongshan, Liujia, and Guantian. Renowned as a tourist destination replete with culinary delights, entertainment, and intellectual pursuits, it beckons you to explore the scenic landscapes and cultural richness with your family.
- Joyful Countryside: This travel route begins at Provincial Highway 3 in Dapu Township of Chiayi County, covering Dapu Township in Chiayi County, as well as Nanxi, Yujing, and Nanhua in Tainan City. It is a scenic corridor brimming with the natural charm and cultural beauty of the region.
