In an effort to enhance the cycling experience and local tourism, the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation & Communication (hereinafter referred to as the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration) is organizing a professional cycling tour guide and maintenance training course. This initiative aims to enhance the proficiency of cycling tour guides, ultimately providing guided tours for future cycling visitors and offering travelers in-depth insight into the local culture and tourist attractions. The "2023 Glimmers in Matsu GO Fun - Cycling Tour Guide and Maintenance Training Course" is scheduled for May 27th and 28th. We welcome all cycling enthusiasts over 18 years of age to sign up (this course is free). Upon completion of the entire course and passing the bicycle maintenance test, participants will receive a course completion certificate. We only have 40 available spots, so if you are interested, register quickly. The registration remains open until all spots are filled.

The course begins at 9:00 am on the 27th with a "Practical Lead-out Experience Drill," starting from Fu'ao Harbor and continuing along the Fuqing Bike Path, Matsu’s first road constructed exclusively for cyclists and pedestrians. It extends from Qingshui to Zhuluo, and continues through Magang, Jinsha, and Tieban. A giant statue of Mazu, its main structure carved from 365 blocks of granite symbolizing "365 days (year-round) of peace and safety," can be viewed along the path. This course serves as a preview for the upcoming "2023 Fun Cycling in Matsu" series.

On the afternoon of May 27th and on May 28th, the course will continue in the audio-visual room of the Nangan Visitor Center. Lin Jian-ming, a certified instructor of cycling lead-out and maintenance from Merida Industry Co. Ltd., will discuss how to improve the safety of cycling tourism. Wang Yong-bao, chairman of the Matsu Tourist Guiding Association, will introduce Matsu's tourism resources, cultural, and environmental characteristics, thereby promoting Matsu's cycling tourism.

Director Huang Shi-fang of the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration said that through this course, the region will not only cultivate professional cycling tour guides and bicycle maintenance talents but also enable cyclists worldwide to experience an in-depth, leisurely guided tour of Matsu. The course aims to blend cycling leisure activities with local tourism, promoting the continued development of Matsu cycling tourism. Beyond the training of cycling tour guides, the "2023 Glimmers in Matsu GO Fun Series" will be launched on July 22nd, including slow cycling travel point collection, survival laser war, the Glimmers Concert, Glimmers Carnival, etc. Visitors are sure to be captivated by the series of events designed to reveal the charming and mysterious glimmers of Matsu.
