Date:115-10-28 Hits:7

The Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, has implemented the “2026 Matsu Tourism Industry Integration and Guidance Program” to help local businesses adopt sustainable operating practices and enhance service quality.  This year, all 10 participating businesses successfully obtained both the SGEQC Sustainable Quality Certification and the ISQM International Service Quality Certification.  Of these, eight earned the SGEQC Silver Level and two received the Bronze Level, while one achieved the ISQM Gold Level and nine attained the Silver Level.  These achievements demonstrate the Matsu Tourism Circle businesses’ commitment to continuously improving their management practices and working together to create a high-quality travel environment.

The Matsu Headquarters stated that the program provided guidance through assessments of each business’s current operations, gap analysis, individualized improvement recommendations, and assistance with certification applications.  This process supported businesses in systematically reviewing their operations and incorporating sustainability principles and service quality standards into their daily practices.

The focus was on helping businesses establish management practices that could be consistently maintained, ensuring that improvements become an integral part of their operations and serve as a foundation for enhancing visitors’ experiences.

The two certifications assess businesses in different areas: sustainable operations and service management.  The SGEQC Sustainable Quality Certification emphasizes sustainability, environmental protection, low-carbon practices, health, and safety and reassurance, covering areas such as the environment, products, and services.   The ISQM International Service Quality Certification focuses on service spaces, service processes, and staff interactions, helping businesses establish clear service standards and deliver more consistent service.  Through guidance toward achieving both certifications, the Matsu Headquaretrs hopes visitors will not only experience Matsu’s unique attractions but also appreciate the care local businesses devote to environmental sustainability and service quality.

The eight businesses that achieved the Silver Level of the SGEQC Sustainable Quality Certification are Island Bobo, Shan Hai Yi Jia Guesthouse, Long Fu Villa, Liang Jing Jing Cultural and Creative Enterprise, Cape Homestay, Dayspring Hotel, Pu Su Business Hotel, and Mu Guang Homestay. The two businesses that received the Bronze Level are Qinbi Mountain City Homestay and Bei’ao Mishanju.

For the ISQM International Service Quality Certification, Dayspring Hotel achieved the Gold Level, while the following nine businesses attained the Silver Level: Island Bobo, Shan Hai Yi Jia Guesthouse, Long Fu Villa, Qinbi Mountain City Homestay, Liang Jing Jing Cultural and Creative Enterprise, Bei’ao Mishanju, Cape Homestay, Pu Su Business Hotel, and Mu Guang Homestay. All participating businesses demonstrated strong commitment throughout the guidance and assessment process.  Through systematic reviews, adjustments, and improvements, they earned recognition for their efforts.

Matsu National Scenic Headquarters hopes that these certification achievements will encourage more local businesses to participate, making sustainable operations and high-quality service defining features of Matsu tourism.  Visitors planning a trip to Matsu are also encouraged to discover these certified businesses and support their efforts through their purchases.  By experiencing the islands’ scenic beauty, cultural charm, and welcoming service, visitors can help contribute to the long-term sustainable development of Matsu tourism.
