Looking for a fun-filled, action-packed team adventure with family and friends? This summer, Matsu is the place to be! Hosted by Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC, the 2026 Matsu Twilight Series – Laser Tag Survival Challenge will take place from July 24 (Friday) to August 2 (Sunday), running for 10 consecutive days at the iconic Dahan Stronghold in Nangan, Matsu.
Blending Matsu's unique military heritage with cutting-edge interactive laser tag technology, the event offers an immersive experience that is both exciting and
challenging. Online registration is now open, inviting participants of all ages to form teams, enjoy friendly competition, and experience the thrill of teamwork in one of Matsu's most iconic wartime landmarks.
Renowned for its one-of-a-kind military heritage and wartime landscapes, Matsu
offers an experience unlike anywhere else. This year's event takes place at the
historic Dahan Stronghold, a former military fortification featuring underground
tunnels, barracks, and an authentic battlefield atmosphere.
Instead of traditional paintball equipment, participants will use high-tech infrared
laser rifles and sensor vests, eliminating concerns about pain or physical impact while ensuring a safe, exciting, and family-friendly experience. Suitable for players of all ages, everyone can step into the role of a sharpshooter and enjoy the thrill of team-based tactical combat.
The event is recommended for participants aged 7 and above. Children under
140 cm in height must be accompanied by an adult throughout the activity. Each
session lasts approximately 40 minutes, including a professional safety briefing and game tutorial, two rounds of laser tag battles, and a post-game debriefing.
Participants who complete the experience will receive a cute Yah-Ou jute tote bag and a NT$100 Matsu Tourism Circle voucher, redeemable at participating local
businesses. Beyond the battlefield adventure, visitors are encouraged to explore Matsu's unique shops, cuisine, and local culture. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
One of the event's highlights is the specially designed "Welcome Home – Veterans Session," created in honor of those who once served in Matsu. Veterans who present proof of their military service—such as a discharge certificate, service record, or a photo of themselves in military uniform from their time in service—can register on-site and, upon completing the laser tag experience, receive an exclusive
commemorative gift: one 600 ml bottle of Matsu Kaoliang Rice Wine.
Veterans are warmly invited to return with family and friends to revisit the islands where they once served, reconnect with cherished memories, and experience Matsu's unique culture, history, and enduring charm from a fresh perspective.
Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters noted that, to ensure both visitor safety and the best possible experience, game zones may be adjusted according to ground conditions inside the tunnels, particularly if surfaces become slippery due to weather or humidity.
Please also note that, during the event period, Dahan Stronghold will be closed to the general public every afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., from July 24 through August 2, to accommodate event operations. Visitors are kindly asked for their
understanding and cooperation.
This summer, gather your family and friends and venture into Matsu's iconic military tunnels for an unforgettable team adventure. Through teamwork, friendly
competition, and immersive gameplay, discover an exciting new way to experience the island's unique battlefield heritage and cultural attractions.
