Date:113-09-13 Hits:84

Matsu is blessed with "star sand/blue tears" and "old wine and gourmet food."  On September 6, a vibrant tipsy breeze blew through as the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters hosted the second "2024 Glimmering Matsu" tipsy concert at Ma Bi Bay Beach Park under the stars in Beigan.  This time, the event also collaborated with the Beigan Township Office's weekend ocean market, featuring a renowned music feast, free tastings of tipsy cocktails, and tipsy-themed games.

The event was graced by notable guests including Huang Guizhu, Deputy Director of the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters; Wu Jinping, Mayor of Beigan Township; Chen Junwei, Political Warfare Director of the Beigan Defense Brigade; Lai Yongwei, Deputy Brigade Leader; Wang Guangya, Deputy Director of the Lienchiang County Government's Transportation and Tourism Bureau; Wang Fangyao, Vice Chairman of the Beigan Township Residents' Representatives; Wang Guanyu, Wang Changyuan, and Zhan Tingyu, among others.  Against the backdrop of Matsu’s starlit skies and ocean, a wonderful night of "Starlight, Starlight, and Youth" unfolded with great enthusiasm.

Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters stated that each of Matsu's four townships and five islands offers its own unique attractions.  Beigan, for instance, features the newly opened War and Peace Memorial Hall and the well-preserved Qinbi Village, a fine example of Mindong architecture.  However, most of the activities were held in Nangan.  In the future, Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters will continue to expand activities across the islands.  For example, the Student Island Carnival was held over eight consecutive weeks during the summer vacation, featuring music performances in Dongyin, Dongju, and Xiju.  Preparations are also underway for the 2025 Dawn Welcome event, which will be held at Matsu's highest peak, Mt.bi in Beigan.

Additionally, this event has invited international media from Japan, South Korea, and Singapore to explore Matsu from perspectives of its unique landscapes, wartime relics, and ecological features.  This will allow visitors to experience innovative and sustainable travel options.  Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters continues to work with local governments, the tourism sector, and travel agencies to promote the overall tourism industry under the theme of "Unique Islands."

The event specially featured performances by renowned cross-genre violinist Connie Mei, the award-winning A cappella group Just Vocal Band, and the Wu Shuang Orchestra, which blends classical and modern elements in its innovative national music.  Surrounding activities included a weekend ocean market, a gold medal-winning flair bartending show, tipsy-themed games, and free tastings of tipsy cocktails.  Under the starlight and sea breeze, nearly 300 visitors enjoyed a delightful evening of tipsy revelry.

The 2024 Glimmering Matsu event is packed with exciting activities. Successful island-hopping puzzle solvers can win prizes such as flight tickets and iPhones.  The online game "Reality Puzzle: Summer Escape" will continue until the end of September.  Additionally, the Laser Tag Survival Game on October 5th and 6th is already open for registration through travel agencies.  Come and experience the wartime atmosphere in Matsu during the Double Ten National Day.
