Tribute to the Sea-Beach Cleanup Activity in Dongyin

Date:113-07-31 Hits:28

To prepare for the "Dongyin Military Obstacle Course" from August 2 to 4, a beach cleanup was organized immediately after the strong winds and heavy rain from Typhoon Kemi passed.  Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters of Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and Dongyin Township Office jointly held the "Tribute to the Sea -Zhongzhu Harbor Beach Cleanup Activity."  With the support of the Army Command in Dongyin, more than a hundred military personnel and civilians participated in this cleanup event.  They coordinated their efforts with the tide schedule to effectively clean the beach, removing a significant amount of marine debris accumulated among the breakwater blocks.  The main marine debris included buoys, polystyrene, wooden and bamboo materials.

To reduce the waste from single-use bottled water, participants were specially requested to bring their own containers.  The Environmental Resources Bureau of Lienchiang County Government also provided reusable cups for those who did not bring their own, allowing them to fill the cups with tea and stay hydrated under the scorching sun.

In addition to the Dongyin Service Station of the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters and all staff from Dongyin Township Office led by Township Mayor Lin Dejian, the Army Command in Dongyin, along with the Navy and Air Force, joined in the efforts.  Many military personnel participated actively in environmental protection and local residents also joined in the beach cleanup activity. Everyone worked together to create a clean and beautiful coastal landscape for the participants of the "Dongyin Military Obstacle Course," striving to improve the quality of the environment.
