Date:114-10-29 Hits:17

To enhance traffic safety awareness and improve the traffic literacy of both tourism practitioners and the general public, the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters of the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications held a Traffic Safety Month Awareness Seminar and Joint Inspection Drill on September 23, 2025. The event was co-organized with the Lienchiang Motor Vehicles Office and the Lienchiang County Police Bureau. With a professional lecture by Director Liang, Chung-Chien of the Motor Vehicles Office, hands-on simulations, and inter-agency enforcement drills, participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of traffic safety, practiced the principles of “people-oriented traffic,”and strengthened safety throughout the travel experience.

The first session of the event focused on education, featuring presentations and case videos to reinforce the concept of “Vehicles: Slow, Look, Stop; Pedestrians: Safe Passage” in daily life. The second session involved outdoor drills, highlighting the dangers of large vehicle blind spots and inner wheel differentials. Joint inspections were also conducted on commercial tour buses by both police and traffic authorities, including driver qualification reviews, vehicle safety equipment checks, and real-world safety demonstrations, ensuring safe operations for every trip.

Director Hung, Chih-Kuang of the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters emphasized: “The Month of Traffic Safety”is an important annual campaign. Through inter-agency cooperation and diverse approaches to promotion, we aim to deeply instill traffic safety concepts among tourism professionals and residents, while also integrating them into the overall visitor experience.” This initiative, combining education and enforcement, seeks to further strengthen public awareness of traffic safety, implement the values of “people-oriented traffic and a culture of yielding,” and foster a safe and friendly travel environment.
