From May 9 to 12, between 10 AM and 6 PM daily, Matsu will showcase its island allure, year-round travel opportunities, and rich cultural heritage at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. These offerings, paired with stunning sights like the blue tears, traditional villages, and military heritage, present visitors with an easygoing and immersive Matsu getaway.

On the afternoon of the fair’s first day, the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters hosted a Matsu Tourism Industry Promotion Conference at the Grand Hai-Li International Hotel in Kaohsiung. Attendees included representatives from the Lienchiang County Bureau of Transportation and Tourism, the Cultural Affairs Department, Mandarin Airlines, ChampTour Travel Service, the Lienchiang County Association of Travel Agents, and Brother & Sister Travel. The event served as a platform for collaboration and networking with southern Taiwan’s tourism industry. Distinguished guests included Chen Chieh-Hsuan (Senior Officer, Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau), Wu Tsung-Lin (Section Chief, Taichung Tourism Bureau), and Tsai Tsung-You (Chairman of the Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents). Nearly a hundred travel professionals attended, making the event a great success.

At the conference, the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters highlighted Matsu’s marine tourism—featuring events such as “Dongyin by Sea,” “Juguang by Sea,” and the “Beigan Mabi Bay Holiday Market Concert.” Themed campaigns like “Glimmering Matsu” aim to continue the popularity of the blue tears phenomenon. Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters focused on “island hopping” and emphasized the inter-island “Blue Highway” travel experience across Matsu’s four townships and five islands, while also previewing tourism events for the latter half of the year. The Cultural Affairs Department promoted the 3rd Matsu International Art Island. Mandarin Airlines and Ever Fun Travel also shared updates on future flights, holiday packages, and upcoming Matsu events, aiming to support the launch of regular Kaohsiung–Matsu flights and further expand Matsu’s visibility and appeal.

The Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters expressed its hope that through this “The Beauty of Matsu: Distinctive Islands” initiative and presence at the Kaohsiung International Travel Fair, more people from southern Taiwan and beyond can experience Matsu’s unique charm in a fresh, immersive way. Moving forward, the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters will continue to promote cross-regional collaboration and diversified marketing strategies, integrating culture, art, nature, and marine tourism to create rich and wide-ranging travel experiences—solidifying Matsu as a top island destination for domestic and international visitors alike.
