Every year at this time, the blue tears attract a large number of tourists to Matsu. To prevent accidents during travel, Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters underthe Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, leverages the power of inter-agency cooperation based on the tourism characteristics of the Matsu region. On March 20, they collaborated with the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Supervision Office, Lienchiang Supervision Station of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Kinmen-Matsu-Penghu Branch of the Coast Guard Administration, the Lienchiang County Police Bureau, Fire Department, Health Bureau, Bureau of Transportation and Tourism, Industrial Development Bureau, Environmental Resources Bureau, and the Consumer Protection Officer to jointly hold the "Lienchiang County First Quarter Tourism Safety Joint Promotion and Water Safety Inspection." The aim is to showcase that Matsu is fully prepared for the blue tears tourism peak season and to ensure the safety and quality of tourists' travel experiences.
This inspection and promotion took place at key locations such as Nangan Airport, Fuao Harbor, Matsu Harbor Beach, Nangan Visitor Center, and the Dabeihai Recreation Area, covering popular tourist spots, water recreation areas, and key transportation nodes. It focused on promoting tourism safety, including traffic safety, nighttime blue tears viewing, and water-based recreation. After on-site inspections, discussions were held to share information and collaborate across agencies. This cooperation helped address multiple aspects of tourism safety and provided concrete suggestions to strengthen safety measures, while ensuring the effective implementation of these recommendations to comprehensively enhance tourist safety.
Director Hong Zhiguang of Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters stated that "safety" is the core principle of tourism. Without safety, there is no tourism. In addition to strengthening the safety awareness of tourism operators and improving safety management, close cooperation between agencies has built a solid protection network for tourism safety. In the future, Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters will continue to collaborate with the Lienchiang County Government and central government agencies stationed in Matsu to conduct joint tourism safety promotion and inspections. They will encourage tourists to actively cooperate with safety measures, collectively creating a safe and secure tourism environment where travelers can enjoy their trip with peace of mind and return safely, while also shaping a positive tourism brand image for the Matsu region.
