Matsu Tourism Alliance in action, new opportunities for Beigan cross-industry integration

Matsu Tourism Alliance was established on June 29th, 2022, and the second session of the alliance's executives was elected on November 14th, 2023.  To consolidate consensus within the tourism industry across islands Matsu, under the leadership of deputy leaders in each alliance region, Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters actively facilitated consensus among operators and collected suggestions for the transformation and development of tourism.

Under the call of Vice Chief Wang Yuansong of Beigan Township, Matsu Tourism Alliance consensus meeting of Beigan area was held at Long Fu Hotel on May 6th and several local tourism operators participated.  During the meeting, National Scenic Area Headquarters explained the approval and implementation of the Matsu Tourism Circle Plan of 2024, and attendees actively discussed all kinds of issues, including establishing a Beigan tourism community, cooperative marketing among operators, promoting night tours for the Blue Tears phenomenon, and annual themes for Beigan tourism.

Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on cross-industry promotion and the establishment of communication communities, reaching substantive consensus. Suggestions included setting up digital experiential facilities at the Beigan Visitor Center, collecting Matsu stories for the development of immersive activities, and organizing concerts to attract more renowned performers. Beigan will focus on three main themes: Blue Tears, wartime history, and religious sites, initiating cooperation among Matsu Tourism Circle operators, supported by Tourism Administration and Lienchiang County Government, to promote tourism experiences by bottom-up processing.

Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters stated that in the future, it will focus on "creating a slow travel and vacation island chain in Matsu" and propose plans for future tourism infrastructure. It will continue the 3.0 plan for the tourism circle from 2024 to 2025, working with Matsu Tourism Circle operators from 2026 to 2033 to enhance overall service quality.  The goal is to cultivate the domestic travel market, expand international visitors, promote green tourism, package and deepen the beauty of Matsu's natural landscapes and traditional culture through distinctive experiential activities, enhancing the allure of Matsu tourism.
