East Longitudinal Valley National Scenic Area

The East Longitudinal Valley National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Administration, and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, (hereinafter referred to as the Valley Administration), have launched a special Fall Getaway in Hualien seasonal promotion under the Slow Traveling along the East Valley bike tour itinerary. This promotion includes carefully selected bicycle package tours for enjoying the scenic rice paddies, hot springs, and the autumn foliage in Chihshang. TThe discounted packages will be offered in limited quantities during the 2023 Taipei Autumn International Travel Fair which will be held from September 29 to October 2 at the Taipei World Trade Center.

Director Guo Zhen Ling of the Valley Administration mentioned that Slow Traveling along the East Valley is an exclusive bicycle tourism brand for Hualien and Taitung. The itineraries are centered around three routes within their jurisdiction,visitors with local food, accommodation, sightseeing, shopping, and DIY experiences, making it easy for the general public to explore Hualien and Taitung.

Director Guo Zhen-Ling also noted that the months of September to November, during the autumn harvest season, are the best times to visit Chihshang in Taitung. During the travel fair, the Valley Administration is offering a limited-time Chihshang Bicycle Half-Day Tour | Roaming the Paradise Road and Mr. Brown Avenue package with a buy 2 get 2 free deal. The original price for four people is NT$ 3,200. With the special offer, four people can enjoy the tour for only NT$ 1,600. The promotion has no restrictions on the departure date, and the minimum number of participants for the group itinerary is 4. 

As the maple trees in the Danong Dafu Forest Park turn red gradually during the months of November and December, visitors can immerse themselves in the forest while cycling on bike paths in the park, enjoying the beautiful autumn foliage and some afternoon tea. During the travel fair, there is a special offer for the Danong Dafu Forest Bicycle Tour X Bamboo-themed Afternoon Tea Stress Relief Journey. The discounted price is NT$1,780 per person (original price NT$2,380), and it includes a complimentary limited-edition Oh Bear bike water bottle. The tour is available on specified departure dates, which include the days before Christmas (December 23-24) and the New Year's holiday (December 30-31).

Another package is the Slow Traveling along the East Valley - Ruisui Centennial Hot Spring X Pomelo-themed Dining Table. This itinerary offers a relaxed ride on electric bicycles and combines the century-old Ruisui Hot Springs with the locally harvested Hegang pomelos. The tour is primarily scheduled for Sundays on December 3, 10, 17, and 24. The original price per person is NT$ 1,980. During the travel fair, it is available at a discounted price of NT$ 1,770 per person. Additionally, participants will receive complimentary Oh Bear bicycle water bottles and Tiger Lord Hot Spring SPA bath vouchers valued at over NT$ 450.

In addition to the mentioned itineraries, the Valley Administration has also invited Taiwan Travel Hualien Line, Taiwan Tour Bus, and the Taste of Native Cuisines: The Journey to Tribal Villages to participate in the travel fair and offer various on-site discounts. Visitors who purchase two or more tickets for the Taiwan Travel Hualien Line can enjoy a 10% discount (valid until September 30, 2024), and each ticket includes a free transformable stainless steel stationery set. As for Taiwan Tour Bus packages, in addition to the buy-one-get-one promotion previously offered by the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, during the travel fair, those who purchase two tickets for the same itinerary will receive a complimentary pack of Guanshan rice.
