Sustainable Vision

「Sea-style.Sustainable East Coast」

Based on the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) guidelines, Global Guidelines to Restart Tourism and One Planet Travel with Care, the COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the resilience of the tourism industry, the interconnectedness of stakeholders, and the importance of environmental protection. It also underscores the interrelationship between the tourism economy, society, and the environment. As a result, sustainable tourism has become a key initiative in post-pandemic tourism development. International market research also indicates that over 80% of travelers support sustainable tourism, and more than three-quarters expect businesses to offer more sustainable options.

Regarding domestic tourism development, the East Coast National Scenic Area boasts an endless Pacific coastline, intertidal zone ecology, diverse water recreation activities, and cultural experiences rooted in prehistoric and Austronesian heritage. The region shapes a unique vacation lifestyle through its local character. The concept of "The more local, the more global" highlights how immersive "living studies" experiences based on the local DNA can create differentiated travel itineraries while continuously innovating tourism products to showcase the brand value of the East Coast’s Sea-style.

In response to global changes in the tourism industry, it is essential to strengthen tourism resilience, raise environmental awareness, and actively invest in the foundational aspects of East Coast tourism—social, environmental, and service infrastructure—to ensure sustainable development and align the region’s tourism with international trends.
