The orange daylilies of Hushanyan in Changhua Huatan have become increasing popular in recent years, earning the spot as the best destination to admire flowers in May throughout the country! The "Guess When the First Orange Daylily Will Bloom" activity held by the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration Office (hereinafter referred to as the Office) in early April attracted over a thousand participants who left a message to predict when the orange daylily would bloom, successfully drew people’s attention to the upcoming orange daylily season. The Office and the Hushanyan Management Committee held a press conference for the flower season today (the 5th) next to the orange daylily flower sea, announcing that the orange daylilies will soon be in bloom and inviting mothers from all over the country to enjoy the beautiful orange daylily blossoms on Mother’s Day together with their children.
Director of the Office TSAO, CHUNG-YU said that the orange daylilies of Hushanyan bloom the earliest in western Taiwan. Visitors do not need to travel all the way to Hualien or Taitung to see the orange daylilies, and no admission or parking fees will be charged. Moreover, the Hushanyan Management Committee will even deep-fry the wilted orange daylilies for visitors to taste, which has been highly welcomed by tourists. The orange daylily flower sea has been quite popular in recent years, brining many visitors to the region and business opportunities. Director Tsao therefore expresses special thanks to the efforts of the Hushanyan Management Committee and many vounteers, making it possible for visitros to relish the beauty of over 30,000 blossomed orange daylilies. On behalf of Director-General of Tourism Bureau Chang Shi-chung, Director Tsao also invited people from all sectors to visit Hushanyan Guanyin Buddha Temple for benediction while visiting scenic spots in Huatan and Changhua, such as Jasmine Huatan, and enjoy free-range chicken cuisine, Changhua meatball and other local delicacies.
