Every March and April, Grey-faced Buzzards migrate north and pass through Taiwan, making this a much-anticipated annual event for birdwatching enthusiasts. The 2026 Baguashan Eagle Watching Season is jointly organized by the Changhua County Government and the Nantou City Office, Nantou County. To promote sustainable tourism internationally, around 300 foreign visitors are expected to come to Taiwan this year to take part in the eagle-watching activities.

This year, a guided mini walking tour will also be held in Changhua City, linking the Eagle Watching Platform, the Baguashan Ecology Visitor Center (Grey-faced Buzzard Exhibition Hall), and nearby attractions. The itinerary concludes with Changhua’s famous local specialty, Bawan (Taiwanese meatball), fulfilling the goal of combining ecology and tourism.

The Wild Bird Society of Changhua will also provide guided interpretation on Grey-faced Buzzards, leading visitors on an in-depth exploration of the Baguashan through professional commentary. In addition to discovering the area’s natural beauty, visitors will also be able to observe the migratory scenes.

The public is encouraged to take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Service Mt. Bagua Route - From Changhua or Chang Hua Bus to reach the Hengshan Eagle Watching Platform in Nantou. From March 21 to 22, free shuttle bus service will also be available at the Changhua Bagua Eagle Watching Platform, encouraging visitors to participate in ecotourism in a low-carbon way.
