An energy-saving and carbon-reduction trend has emerged in the post-pandemic era, with train travel being the optimal choice. The Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) has collaborated with the Taiwan Railway Company (TRC) to introduce the "Knowing Taiwan through Journeys – Taiwan Travel Passport". This practical tour guide handbook compiles information on over three hundred big and small stations of TRA (Taiwan Railways Administration), THSR (Taiwan High Speed Rail), forest railways, and coal mine railways, alongside six visitor centers within the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area. Starting from March 31, 2024, both domestic and international travelers are invited to embark on railway journeys on their preferred dates with a heartfelt passion.

The Taiwan Travel Passport, a collaborative publication between the Administration and TRC, has compiled information on all big and small railway stations across Taiwan. It serves as an ideal guide for railway enthusiasts and travelers embarking on train journeys. TRA has over 200 stations along its main and branch lines, each featuring distinct local characteristics and charms that are worth exploring for travelers. Journeying along TRA's branch lines also provides travelers with a glimpse into Taiwan's developmental history, enabling them to learn about Taiwan's journey of development.

Director of the Administration Tsou Chung-yu expressed that, in alignment with the Ershui International Water Running Festival, the Administration has organized a steam travel journey campaign for two consecutive years, attracting numerous domestic and foreign travelers. Director Tsou stated that it is quite exciting for the Administration to have the opportunity to jointly release the Taiwan Travel Passport with TRC, especially the Administration’s scenic spots are also included in the passport for effective marketing. Director Tsou further warmly welcomes everyone to enjoy a hot spring bath in Guguan, visit the Nanzhuang Old Street, hike the Lion's Head Mountain Historic Trail, and savor delicacies and take a bicycle ride at Baguashan.
