Date:112-03-18 Hits:310

At the eve of the Arbor Day, the Office organized “ Love for Azalea, Love for Lishan”, an Arbor Day event, at Cherry Blossom Hill in Lishan. This event saw 70 participating tourists to plant more than 200 azalea and geranium seedlings together. Even a 6-year-old child and students from Lingtung Senior Citizens Learning Camp joined the crowd to plant geranium seedlings by their own hands together and witnessed the ecological conservation education!

Chung-Yu Tsao, Director of Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area, indicate that the office holds the Arbor Day event every spring in Lishan, the most breathtaking mountain in Central Taiwan, and plant trees and flowers through various projects, including the Arbor Day event and the maintenance of tourist attractions in the Lishan area. Over 1,000 plants are planted annually in Lishan, yielding fruitful results.

Director Tsao further explained that, due to the fragmented geology of the Great Lishan Area, worsened by the severe road collapse in the reclamation area over recent years, Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration Office has increased its commitment to tree planting. In the Arbor Day event today, the Office planted beautiful flowering trees in Great Lishan Area. After that, the Office will hold the seedling donation from Forestry Bureau's Dongshih Forest Area Administrative Center on March 12th in front of Lishan Guest House. These initiatives aim to promote eco-friendly tourism and highlight the significance of jointly maintaining forests to tourists so as to ensure the longevity of the ecology in Great Lishan Area.
