The 2023 Nanzhuang Flower Festival kicks off on the 29th: The Office and the county government invite you to take a leisurely stroll through the streets and alleys adorned with blooming flowers

A press conference was held by the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration Office today (28th) to announce the start of the 2023 Nanzhuang Flower Festival tomorrow (29th). Themed on “Embracing Leisurely pace”, the flower festival of this year will take place nearby Nanzhuang Visitor Center for a month from May 28. The flower festival has connected various famous scenic spots Nanzhuang and decorated them with characteristic installation art to create a picture book like scenery. Apart from the five sets of large flower installation artworks and four themes of weekend DIY experiencing activities, the county government also planted over 20,000 flowers, including French hydrangea, hollyhock, lavender, begonia, and Japanese morning glory. The flower festival kick-off ceremony was hosted by Director of the Office TSAO, CHUNG-YU and Deputy Magistrate of Miaoli County DENG, GUI-JU, who jointly invite people from corners of the nation to come to Nanzhuang’s characteristic flowery streets and alleys and to enjoy the beauty of Nanzhung in a “slowly pace”.

 

Nanzhuang Township, which boasts a unique cultural and artistic atmosphere, was awarded international recognition as a Cittaslow (slow city) in 2016. This year's Nanzhuang Flower Festival makes use of the landscape hidden within the streets and alleys of Nanzhuang Old Street to create thematic flower installations inspired by picture books. The festival aims to connect the renowned scenic spots of Nanzhuang, combining tourism, flower installation art, local delicacies, and cultural elements to build the tourism brand of Nanzhuang! Apart from enjoy the beauty of flowers and the delicacies, visitors are also invited to explore Nanzhuang Old Street, Osmanthus Alley, the nostalgic Shisanjian Old Street, the Nanzhuang Theater established in 1946, and the Kangji Suspension Bridge during the flower festival. Additionally, the nearby Donghe Suspension Bridge, Penglai River Fish Watching Trail, Penglai River Ecology Park, Forty-two Ping Trail, Xiangtian Lake, Saisiyat Folk Museum, and Shenxian Valley are also highly recommend for visitors to experience the unique charm or Nanzhuang through their journey!
