The Rinari tribe in Maolin National Scenic Area amazed the visiting Hong Kong media group

In order to continue to promote Taiwan tourism, the Tourism Bureau's office in Hong Kong invited local media there to form a group to visit Taiwan and experience the style and culture of various places. On July 11, 2023, the group visited Rinari in the Scenic Area Headquarters, where they encountered tribes, enjoyed local specialty meals, tried on traditional indigenous costumes, were amazed by leather carving handicrafts, and listened to the a tribal history and culture guide.

Director Ke Jianxing said that by building an indigenous tribe based tourism industry and helping to improve the tourism environment, Maolin National Scenic Area Headquarters is actively creating a "Tribal Tourism in the Kaohsiung and Pingtung Foothills" brand that is "niche, exquisite and in-depth." Tourists from all over the world are welcome to come to the Scenic Area for in-depth tourism and experience the unique culture of an indigenous town.

Maolin National Scenic Area is located in the foothills of Kaoping Mountain. It has a rich geology and diverse ecological landscape and includes six rural townships in Taoyuan District, Liugui District and Maolin District of Kaohsiung City, as well as Sandimen Township, Majia Township, and Wutai in Pingtung County. The indigenous peoples within this jurisdiction include the Rukai, Paiwan, Bunun and Hla'alua, showcasing its diverse indigenous cultural characteristics, coupled with unique landscape ecology, abundant tourism and recreational attractions. It is a must visit scenic spot for visitors who love distinctive geographical and natural environments or indigenous cultures.
