Alishan Tsou Annual Festivals

Date:113-09-25 Hits:35

With respect for Tsou life and culture, Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters has assisted the Tsou tribes in organizing the "Alishan Tsou Annual Festivals" from September to December. Domestic and international visitors are invited to explore the five major Tsou locations—Tsou Veoveoana Cultural and Creative Park, Laiji Cultural Plaza, Chashan Life and Culture Park, Yuyupas Tsou Cultural Tribe, and Danaiku Ecological Park—along with nine major tribal communities.

Alishan Tsou Annual Festivals consist of a series of events independently organized by each tribe. This year's festivals began with Shanmei's Taiwan Shovel-jaw Carp Festival (October 11-13), followed by the Life Bean Festival of Alishan (October 25-27), Laiji Thanksgiving Festival (November 9), Chashan Hufu Gazebo Festival (November 23-24), Dabang Life "Cou" Festival (November 30-December 1), Xinmei Camellia Oil Festival (November-February), Zhulu Sharing Festival (December 7-8), Lijia Firefly Season (April), and Leye Industries Festival. As autumn and winter approach, visitors are invited to slow down and immerse themselves in the Tsou tribes of Alishan. Learn from Tsou wisdom and experience it firsthand. Appreciate their humility in coexisting with nature through tribal hymns. Feel the spirit of tribal unity through their dance. Let your Alishan trip be an eye-opening experience.

Visiting the nine major Tsou tribes in Alishan offers the chance to learn about the area's rich nature, culture, and art. It is hoped that visitors from all over the world will be intrigued by Tsou culture; and that in the future, they will all learn to say "aveoveoyu" (the Tsou greeting) when visiting Taiwan.

Muni Music Festival will be held at Niupuzi Love Prairie on October 26-27! The lineup includes top music and dance performers from all ethnic groups in Taiwan, including indigenous musicians. Their wonderful performances will light up the festival like bright stars. The beautiful voices of the indigenous musicians will echo through Alishan, electrifying the crowd!

In addition, Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters has launched new tours of the nine major tribes in Alishan from May to December, along with a stamp collection lucky draw from August to October. Domestic and international tourists are invited to experience the most authentic Tsou tribal culture and the diverse charm of Taiwan.
