Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters

The Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC has an organized system that is comprised of a director, assistant director, and secretary. There are four sections under them, namely the Planning Section, Engineering Section, Management Section, and Recreation Section. The three offices include the Secretariat, the Personnel Office, and the Accounting Office. The three Management Centers include the Shizhuo Management Center, Dabang Management Center, and the Wenfeng Management Center.

The Headquarters oversees the administration of a national-level scenic area, with the following main tasks:

• The inspection, planning, development, and protection of tourism resources, and the preservation of unique ecological, geological, landscape, and water resources.
• The implementation of scenic area plans, and the building and maintenance of public facilities.
• The management of tourism, accommodation, amusement, and public facilities and the management of mountain regions, water bodies, and airspace recreational activities, and the encouragement of private organizations to take part in investment and building regarding these activities.
• Items regarding all areas of construction co-ordination, and assistance and processing concerning building permits.
• Maintenance of environmental cleanliness and pollution prevention.
• Maintenance and management of tourism safety and order.
• Tourism services and information provision.
• Promotion of tourism and recreation activities.
• Liaison and co-operation with transportation from the outside.
• Other related items concerning scenic area management.
