To provide convenient and friendly shuttle services for domestic and foreign travelers, and to create a higher-quality travel environment, the Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration Bureau, MOTC, has added stations at "Eryanping Trail" and "Gongxing Forest Park" to both "Alishan Route A" (departing from THSR Chiayi Station) and "Alishan Route B" (departing from TRA Chiayi Station) starting from December 15, 2023. This allows travelers to explore scenic spots along the Alishan Highway (Taiwan Provincial Highway 18) even more conveniently.
The "Gongxing Forest Park" is the newest and most worthwhile hideaway to visit in Alishan this year! Featuring various ecological landscapes year-round, it entices travelers with the allure of cherry blossoms, tong blossoms, or fireflies that light up the night. Travelers can stroll on the Longmei Trail and observe the flora and fauna ecology in the Park. The renowned “Eryangping Trail”, on the other way, is a must-visit hotspot. At this year's "Tourism Spotlight Awards", it stood out among 192 nationwide scenic spots and received the "Landscape Facilities Award". Renowned as Taiwan's foremost cloud sea trail, it presents captivating scenes of not only bamboo forests, unique stones, and tea plantations but also a panoramic view of the Chianan Plain and reservoir. During winter, it also unveils breathtaking sights of the cloud waterfall, cloud sea, and sunset, attracting numerous domestic and foreign travelers, as well as photography enthusiasts.
The Director emphasized that the Alishan Route of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle passes through various major scenic spots, including the Tsou Veoveoana Cultural and Creative Park, Xiding, Shizhuo, Fenqihu, and the Shizilu Station of Alishan Forest Railway, and ultimately ends at the Alishan Forest Recreation Area. Travelers can leisurely pace themselves to delve into a profound exploration of these key attractions with low-carbon transportation tools and truly savor the charm of Alishan. Moreover, travelers who take the Alishan Route and Ruili Route with an e-ticket (including mobile payment) before the end of August 2025 will enjoy a half-price discount.
