Formosa North Coast Art Festival Kicks off, the Crown Coast Transforms into an Art Village

Date:112-09-30 Hits:73

The opening ceremony of the Formosa North Coast Art Festival was held at the Juming Museum of Art on September 30. The events featured "Qiulan Village," a creation of the unique foggy scene at the museum in autumn. Taiwanese pop musicians Lim Giong, Crispy the Band and Sorry Youth were invited to perform at "Qiulan Village Concert" with an audience of nearly one thousand, to kick off the art season.

Minister of Transportation and Communications Wang Guo-tsai said that the North Coast has beautiful bays, special landscapes, rich cultural and aesthetic resources, and high-quality hot springs in winter. Nearly a thousand artists are stationed on the North Coast, showing that it is a place with considerable tourism and art resources. Therefore, this year, the North Coast was specially chosen to host the first "Formosa North Coast Art Season." Seven domestic and foreign artists were invited to create wonderful works, combined with seven important tourist routes, to bring more depth to North Coast tours.

"Formosa North Coast Art Season" opened with "Qiulan Village Concert." At the opening, the Golden Melody Award-winning group "Crispy the Band" was invited to take the lead, and participating artist Lim Giong performed live a theme created for the art festival. The musical works were presented against the backdrop of the skylight and sea shadows of the north coast and local cultural imagery, showcasing the art festival’s combination of humanity and nature. Finally, the Taiwanese rock band "Sorry Youth" provided the perfect conclusion to the event.

The "Formosa North Coast Art Festival" was planned and executed by Juming Art Museum, working together with Northguan National Scenic Area Headquarters to promote the special natural and cultural landscapes of the North Coast. Well-known artists from Japan and Taiwan were invited to participate, making the "Formosa "Shabei Coast Art Festival" an international event. Admission was free from October 1st to October 15th. During this period, visitors were invited to create with colorful threads, weave their own works and together become "Formosa North Coast Art Festival" creators.

The six-month exhibition runs until February 29, 2024, and visitors are invited to discover the beauty of North Coast art.
