In 2017, Japan was the fastest growing destination of visitor arrivals in Asia, while South Korea was the fastest declining area of visitors in the region. Taiwan was a major source market for visitors to Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea and maintained close tourism exchanges throughout Asia.
